I thought about spraying out the frame and using air to blow out the filth in my cw frame. Will this hurt the polymer frame or is this a bad idea in general for some other reason?

I shoot weekly so I clean weekly. I stopped using brake cleaner after using it for about a year. I've been using CRC QD Electronic cleaner. More expensive but not as harsh. It cleans the same as brake clean but seams more gentle on the DLC finish.
Brake clean dulled the inside of the frame and played hell with the finish on the Trijicons. It did not mess up the finish on the Mepro Light sites.
I feel that spray cleaners alone don't remove all the crud. One needs to use a brush!
I loosen the crud with Hopes, brush all the areas including the frame interior, then flush with CRC QD.
If you assume your pistol is clean after using just a spray cleaner, go rip off a couple of hundred rounds, spray clean as usual, then strip the slide and look at the striker and the back of the extractor pivot.

what ever u feel good about.... non cholorinated brake cleaner works great, it will take ALL THE OILS out of the gun so relube as the kahr chart shows. Some even use dawn in hot water to clean the lower portion. There is realy not alot there that will gum up IMO. I spray clean my lower when ever I sprayclean my upper. Probably spray cleaned my PM9 300 times with non cholorinted brake cleaner and it looks the same to me. yMMV. some cleaners and that includes gun cleaners are harsh on PAINTED surface, so take off any wooden grips and I would keep any cleaner away from some sights as they just paint them instead of actual bluing them. There is a difference BLAST OFF by Birchwood specificaly says on the can to keep away from painted surfaces. Pays to read the labels... Don't blame the cleaner for doing its job. I have MMC front and back sights on my K9 and they are blued and nothing seems to bother that finish. My xs big dots on my PM9 are the same way.
