I have been using a product called Break Free CLP to clean and lube all my other guns but have not seen it listed in any posts here on the Kahr forum. Do any of you use this product??? It has kept all of my non-Kahrs working great but after reading many of the discussions, it makes me wonder if I shouldn't also be using something like some TW25 as a grease also on my new P9.

Thanks for input

It's what I use for everything except the bore. I don't see any reason to use anything else. It just works.

TW25 is all I use but what ever works for u, just stay with it. when ur gun is running right, why switch. Lotrs of good lubes out there. I just stayed with TW25. It doesn't run in my pocket..

CLP is good and been around a long time. I use weaponshield oil, which is a bit heavier than CLP, and use grease (slide glide) on the rails and barrel lugs

BreakFree CLP here along with tetra gun grease. I clean every trip for the most part so I even CLP the bore. Never had an ish with it not being strong enough to degunk the barrel.

Breakfree CLP and Tetra lubricant works for me. Great combination.

Everyone has used Breakfree CLP in their shooting career at one time or another..

As far as I'm concerned CLP is a mediocre cleaner, a poor lube, but a decent preservative.

I use Eezox with TW-25 and happy with both so far.

If it’s working... don’t worry about it :)

BFCLP is all I’ve used (#9 the bore occasionally) on my PM9 since day one (Sept. 2009) and never had an issue.
In fact I’ve used it on several guns for many years without malfunction, excessive wear, polymer damage or corrosion.

Are there better C.L and P’s as separate products...yep...as an all in one...probably….will your guns explode in a fiery pit of wear and corrosion if you don’t use them….nope.
BFCLP will remain my choice because it’s available as close as WM, it’s not expensive and more importantly...it works.

My dad used Hobbes, I grew up using Hobbes, and still do once and awhile for nostalgia moments. However, now I use mainly Break Free CLP and Tetra.

DITTO DITTO DITTO

Admittedly though I have only been usiing tetra since looking for a lube solution for pocket/purse carry. The wife didn't want anything to get all over her purse and/or smell it up. Up until a few weeks ago all of my carry solutions were paddle holsters or side carry ( under a jacket ).

BTW I don't clean the wifes weapon with CLP...hers gets hoppes elite  no smell

I use CLP for cleaning all my firearms and Slip 2000 EWL for lube.

I've been shooting and cleaning guns for about 15 years, and still haven't settled on a perfect cleaner/lube combo. I've used a TON (almost literally, don't laugh!) of different products over the years but my "go to" products are Hoppes #9 and Militec-1 (oil and grease).

I'm still looking for a magic product to decarbon the AR, and I don't think such an animal exists.

As with all products, there are good ones and bad ones but my opinion is as long as you clean your guns (you know a lot of people don't even do that!), and use something to C, L and P, you should be good to go.

Shoot safe!

Hobbies is spelled with two "Ps" not two "Bs". It;s Hoppes. You must not be using it enough. :)

Depending on the condition of the gun, I start with Shooter's Choice degreaser followed by CLP and finish with a dab of Militec-1 grease on the slides. Sometimes I just use CLP.

I used BFCLP in the past but switched to Weaponshield and haven't looked back.

Breakfree CLP s an excelent penetrating lube & protectant. I've used it for many years. Now for long term protection I have used a product that most younger folks don't even know exists...that product would be "Rigg" I have applied a thin film over inside & out and came back to tha gun years later to find it just as I left it. I even use it on my automatic's slides since it tends to stay where you place it and isn't runny if applied correctly. this stuff is very much like the old cosmoline the army used to wrap their weapons in for staorage back in the day. That stuff was nasty to clean up after.

Found a recent corrosion test for 30 different products...interesting results.

Are you using Weaponshield as your cleaner and lube? I just got the sample (which is super sweet) and plan to clean guns today (went to the range yesterday....didnt get cleaned yesterday :( ) Just wondering how it works if you're using it as both.

It's all I use on my pistols. I still use hoppe's #9 on the really filthy stuff (like after running 500 rounds of Wolf through my AR) or when cleaning up my Mosin. Weaponshield would do the job but Hoppe's is cheaper and goes farther.

I used break free years ago and it worked well. I currently am using Weaponshield. The company is less than ten miles from my home and the owner is a nice guy to deal with. The also have a grease that works just as well. YMMV.tom.

There's no secret to keeping your Kahr or any other firearm for that matter, clean and running well. It ain't rocket science!

All you need to keep your Kahr clean and lubed is:

Chooter's Choice MC#7
FP-10
TW-25b

And of course proper fitting patches and a good, caliber specific bronze brush on a cleaning rod. ;)

After seeing the results of the tests I could not be any happier to know my guns have been and always will be well protected from rust. http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=103924 (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=103924)

CLP used to be and probably still is standard GI issue for small arms maintenance. I still have a bottle and use it on occaision.

As rediculous as it may sound, I clean my kahr's with spray brakeparts cleaner from wally world. I take care to avoid getting it on the grips. Then I use an artist's paintbrush to apply Lucas racing grease to the slide surfaces and any other various surfaces that see sliding motion when firing. I give the trigger pivot and other hard to lube places a shot of remoil.

It works for me and its relatively quick and easy.

IMO nothing ridiculous on the brakeparts cleaner. if it non cholorinated which today I think all are, then IMO it is basically the same as the higher priced gun spray. I have used brake cleaner on my guns for over 5 years. works great, not good on wood grips or painted surfaces but neither is most cleaners

I but the TW25 grease in the sysringe appliacator and I can lay a small line ride downinside my slide grove and never miss a beat. My trigger pivot area, I just spray with Remington dry lube..

Hey Jocko. I've used the TW25, too. When the little syringe ran out I just grabbed the tube of Lucas instead of making the run to the store. I find they are both similar as sticky waterproof grease. Great for slides and anywhere metal moves on metal. It stays put unlike the oils that run away over time.
