I don't care much for that program either.

You don't have to pay to buy but if you do you get faster shipping and first dibs on certain things. Some stuff is for sale to VIP only.

Another money making scheme. Kind of like Gary Olin in the Guide. Members get better prices.

I feel the same way, but twice now - once in the past day - an interesting item has come up that was for VIP members only (which they say is for new or scarce items for 72 hours) that has disappeared before they went off of VIP status. At least I saved the money, for now.

While I dislike merchants tacking on extra profit - much like the despicable practice some years ago when many Japanese car dealers tacked on "additional dealer markup" charges to cars that people apparently could not buy enough of (not me) - it actually is hard to argue against the practice in a capitalist society for goods that are not required for daily life. :mad:
