First 150 Rounds on my P45

I just took my P45 out to the range for the first time and ran 150 rounds through it nearly flawlessly. ( I say nearly because I had one round fail to eject when shooting my first shot with my weak hand. I really limp-wristed it.) I used Blazer brass rounds and all was good. Until... I loaded some Hornady Critical Defense 185 Gr rounds. First round ejected and the second took a nose dive and got stuck. Had to hit the back of the slide to get it to seat. This happened a second and third time and I ended up giving up. Any recommendations on JHP for the P45?

That's the normal break in period. My P45 had multiple failures and just started to smooth out at 150 rounds. After this time I've had no failures of any type. Just keep it lubed and shoot it. You chose a fine pistol, carries great for c/c and is plenty accurate. Enjoy your P45.

If this is the round you are using, I vaguely remember people having trouble with the rubber tip "sticking" on their feed ramps. If so, just about anything that lacks the rubber bumper on the front should be an improvement. Here on the KahrTalk forum, Speer Gold Dots seem to be popular with experienced .45 ACP shooters, including Bawanna. Might be worth a try.

I have run Speer Gold Dots and Federal Hst through mine...all good. The best thing about 45acp is even if the bullet doesn't expand, it still does it job. And the comment about not expanding and doing it's job {FMJ} comes directly from a Korean war vet on the battlefield.

I use any 230 grain jhp in my P45. I like Speer gold dots or federal hydrashocks. Corbon powerball works well also in mine, but it's quite snappy.
