Sent an email to xs, asking about the possibility of big dots coming out for the cm9, and this is the response I got.

We have one option you can buy right now and one in development. The set you can buy right now requires you have a dovetail cut made in the slide for the new front sight. We are working on a set that has a front sight that will go into the twin holes the factory sight fits into. We are giving this set up a lot of abuse because those holes are very small with correspondingly small pegs the rear of which has an even tinier screw that holds the whole mess in place. We want to fell confident that over a long term the sight will stay in place. Recoil is one thing but sights on guns that are carried, especially those in IWB holsters take a lot of knocks & dings. So far things are holding up well, but it will be the summer before we will probably know for sure and be able to offer a set.

So I know waiting until the summer doesnt seem to bad, but I was just wondering if anyone has had a dovetail cut into their cm? If so, what kind of concerns/costs would I encounter?

I would still own my CM9 if the front sight was dove tail. I had two night sights Kahr installed break. I would check to see the cost to dove tail.
