Ok, so I know some of you have elaborate setups, but what I am looking for is which items do you use that you look at as indispensable?
I have a regular cleaning kit with a rod, brush and swabs, and I generally have a handful of Q-Tips on hand as well for the tight spots and to get rid of debris. A roll of paper towels is close at hand as well.
Which additional items make your cleaning simpler? Any tips are welcome!
Thanks

I guy the cotton swabs on a wooden stick. I get them at Brownells but others sell them also. I use them a lot. A Q tip works but the stick and the extra length of the stick make them right handy.
I frequently use a bore snake as the last step in cleaning, sometimes first and last, just to make sure every thing is clean and all the lube is out of the barrel unless of course the guns is going to be stored.

It depends. At home I have all kinds of stuff, at the range I have my Leatherman, and a small specialty tool set (couple of punches and screwdrivers/torx etc.), then I have a few patches, a nylon double ended brush, a bronze brush, a rifle cleaning rod, and a pistol rod and brush set, a pick, and extra batteries for the muffs. If I can't get it done with that at the range, then I take it home and go over everything with a fine tooth comb.
In addition to above: a bore light, small LED flashlight, 12 inch wooden dowels, various diameters , neoprene chemical gloves and eye protection when I spray the works with brake cleaner. Oh yeah and EMT scissors when I need to cut towel patches.

Plastic handle flat and Philips head screwdrivers, Q Tips, and a couple of old all cotton tee shirts. Of course my regular cleaning kit as well.

jlott mentioned it in his list, and the dental pick is a valuable addition to any gun cleaning kit

I don't know if I mentioned it, but that is just what I normally take to the range. At home with my real tools and such, the sky is the limit on what I have available. I also forgot that I carry a rag or two when I go to the range.
Just cleaning equipment.
Have it all organized in a fishing tackle/lure box. The divided trays are great for brushes, patches, etc. Cleaning rods and chemicals go in the bottom.

a lot of the above with the addition of a small semi stiff stainless steel brush fo my stailess guns, gets the crud off fast and leaves no marks
