I picked up one of these revolvers last weekend and would like to find out if the cylinder and barrel are blued carbon steel or are they stainless with a black finish?...

The guy at the gun shop didn't know but I think they are blued carbon steel and if so I will have to watch out for rust from pocket carry...As always thanks to all for allowing me to ask a stupid question...

S&W website says it's carbon steel cylinder with aluminum alloy frame. So guess I'd keep a protectant and it. I've been considering one of these for wife but reviews have indicated it's a pretty sharp recoil and I'm guessing the wife would balk on it. Hope I can get her into a CW9 or P9.

RUger LCR reviews seem to be good on recoil absorption with the Hogue grips so may have to look at one of those.

LCR is a sweet shooter. The Hogue Tamer grips soak up the recoil and the LCR trigger is better than S&W and Colt put together!
