so, decided to order a sight pusher from sightpusher.com, just wasn't overly thrilled about sending off to kahr or xs sights (or whoever) just to have it come back and be 'off'.
my p9 sights were never on the mark, front sight looks like it was partially forced on (from the factory) and then the rear sight actually came loose at one point and slide off the gun. i put it back on and centered as best i could, then loctite, but it's still off. my new TP9 seems dead on (as far as my shooting ability).
anyway, its on its way as of today and i was just curious who has one (or another version) and if you have any tips before i attempt this myself. at first, i'm just going to recenter the factory sights, but ultimately gonna replace them w/ xs sights i think.

they say push the sight left to right, to get off. Hand fit new sights to install, and leavethe sight pusher out of itsome kinda freeze the new sights and heat slightly the slide to install and they say they then slip right on. can't attest tpo any of this abouve. I have a sight pusher anduse it only to move my sights..
I think it is wise idea to buy one though.

Apply Kroil penetrating oil to the sight dovetail and let it stand overnight before you attempt to remove the sight. Otherwise, like Jocko said.

so yea, looked like (and from reading here) that sites come off left to right (looking at the back of the slide. there does seem to be a taper in that direction. will do.
as far as hand fitting, i'm not a mechanical kinda guy, but i'm assuming this means just a fine metal file and get them to the point that they pretty much slide in w/ littel effort. beyond that, just loctite them once done?
so won't 'pushing' them w/ the sightpusher after loctite is in there break them totally free, i.e. moving around? i was kinda figuring they should be a snug/tight fit and once positioned, never move/drift them.
this is my first attempt at anything other than just cleaning my guns. my dad is a mechanical genius, but i didn't get that gene.
once i pull this off, i plan to rip into the slide assembly and clean out the striker chanel and other parts/pieces. but starting easy so i don't sprain anything.
thanks guys.

way as very little is needed to get the rear sight to jgo in OK is to just get some medium grit paper and slide the rearsight back kand forth on the paper. that way ur keeping it even all across the bottom. It is not rocket science to fit the sights, just take ur time. once it starts to go in in the dovetail, stop and then ut some blue locktite on the site and tap it home.
