Is it possible to switch the barrels between the P45 and CW45? What I mean is could I buy a polygonal barrel for the P45 and put it in my CW45 if I wanted to?

I am not sure but also curious if the same would work to put a p9 barrel in a cw9.

A complete waste of money. Your CW has the same kind of barrel and rifling as most of the guns on the planet. People say the polygonal barrels give greater velocity, but every chrono comparison I have read about found the velicity from the CW barrels to be faster!

I don't think you can

I'm sure it would fit since they have the same dimensions. But I agree with Jfoot; the only positive to adding a polygonal rifled barrel is for better ease of cleaning. I doubt you see a change in accuracy.

Hello I am new here but have been on other forums for a long time,I have a lot of experience with both the P series and the CW,The barrels on a P-9 will not interchange with a CW-9 the one i tried to swap would not the lug on the bottom of the Barrel is bigger on the P series, just some fyi..Also my experience with them the new Cw was more accurate and reliable then the other P series i had..

That's odd, as the 4.0" ported barrel (http://www.kahr.com/Guide-Rods-and-Barrels/Kahr-40-Ported-Barrel-P9-and-CW9.asp) is listed as fitting both the P9 and CW9: "Compensator for reduced recoil. Drop-in Barrel. No special fitting required. Fits P9 and CW9 only."
Is it possible you were thinking of a "K" series barrel (in regards to having a larger lug)?
To the OP,
Sometime back, jlottmc verified that the P45/CW45 barrels would interchange, but he had not fired them that way: http://kahrtalk.com/showpost.php?p=68102&postcount=2

I always thought they would interchange I have been racking my little pee brain to figure out why the barrel lub would be bigger on a P over the cw polymer. I do think the steel kahrs barrels will not interchange with polymer but GB I think ur right but again I don't want to call ronnie 1970 out on it eithger as he has both guns in his hands and I am assuming he haS tried them each in the guns. the slides are identical (internally) the barrels are the same length--humm.
