New to site, and first Kahr, a CM9, and I love it so far. Have run over 200 rounds through it already with no malfunctions at all. I used WWB 115gr FMJ for most and some Rem 115gr JHP too. Just wondering whether anyone has any experience with the CorBon 115gr +P JHP for carry (SD) which are recommended by Ayoob, Sanow et.al. as being one of the better. I carry the CorBon 110gr.+P JHP in my Ruger KLCR when using, never had a problem-very accurate and clean firing-also use the Fed 125gr JHP in .357Mag. On occasion. Also, one other question, I have the 6rd mag, and 8rd mag, and just ordered a 7rd mag-hope I didn't waste my money. Thanks in advance for any help, y'all have been very informative so far. Take care and be safe!

Ihave used it, IJMO u can't beat corbon ammo, I like their 125 HP also but I presently carry powerball in my PM9 and P380.
If the 8rd mag works OK then the 7 round should be OK but some are finicky in the cm and pm kahrs. My thoughts are , u bought a defense gun for concealment, stay flush fit and u will train that way to. an 8 round mag is certainly gonna give you a total differentr grip than the 6 round flush: Just sayin. Besides that , that 8 round has to be totally butt ugly sticking out the bottom to: Just sayin. Nice gun though the cm9 has IMO nothing in its class, certainly no trigger system as good out of the box as kahrs are..

I carry with Speer 124 gr. Gold dot in my CM9. Good accuracy and flawless function.

+1 on the PowrBall. Feeds into CM9 or K9 like a dream. Snappy little round though. You can tell you're shooting it.

I'm personally not for or against the lighter/faster +P rounds, but I am a believer in the more modern bullet designs in tandem w/ heavier bullets. I carry the 147gr PDX1 and shoot the WWB 147gr flat nose or WWB 147gr JHP as my plinking/training round. I find the ballistics tests to be more than acceptable and find I shoot MUCH better w/ the seemingly lower recoil of this weight/speed bullet. The lighter rounds with standard loads have too much snap/flip and the +P rounds are just too punishing on both my hands and wallet on long range trips. I prefer to shoot as close to what I carry and there aren't that many cheap 115-124gr +P rounds.
Just another alternative to consider.

If you keep saying that, i'm gonna have to do it. If i do it, i'm gonna spend more money on gun stuff. If i spend more money on gun stuff the wife will get peeved. If the wife is peeved, i have to do things around the house. If i have to do things around the house, i could fall off a ladder...dont fall off a ladder (direct tv)

Both of my Kahrs eat 124 gr Gold Dots and Golden Sabers. Both are highly rated bullets. I use whichever I can get my hands on.
Key is reliability. You can have the highest rated bullet/round, but if it doesn't go bang the first time and every time, then it isn't worth a lick.

Short update. Received the CorBon 115gr +P the other day, 2 boxes of 20ct.. Also ordered a "Talon Grip" for my CM9, and a 7rd. magazine. Applied the grip, loaded the 7rd mag. With the CB 115gr+P and hit the range. There is nothing like the feeling you get when you feel and see "reliability" first hand. Everything went perfectly. Shot up the boxes of ammo, now I have to order more, the 7rd mag. worked great (and doesn't look bad on the CM9 for carry), and the grip certainly helped too. All in all a GREAT day!

There are so many good rounds out there in 9mm these days. I try to pick the ones that seem to have a good performance on the street and can be purchased in 50 round boxes so I can afford to practice with them occasionally. Right now the 50 round box club of modern hollowpoints includes the Speer Gold Dot, HST and Winchester Ranger T.
I already have a couple hundred rounds of 124gr +P Gold Dot for my defensive Glocks so I decided on that round for my CM9 as well. BUT... I had to file the slide stop a bit to get them to feed without locking the slide back. They feed fine now and I can slingshot them as well. Can usually pick them up for $25-$30 per 50rnds at the local gunshows.

Not sure if I can post pics yet, but the round on the left is a Gold Dot 124 gr (not +p) and the one on the right is a 115 gr +p CorBon JHP. They were shot into gallon jugs of water last fall.

Never tried CorBon. I use PDX1 147gr and Speer Gold Dot 124 in all my pistols. Never had a problem with either and both are considered top flight defensive rounds. Based on the photos above, it looks like the Gold Dot held up better to that water than the CorBon did.

corbon ammo is good stuff, I particulary like the all copper dpx corbon round. NOt cheap ammo though, but extremely hot rounds. I shoot the corbon powerball in my P380 and PM9

You're right about price. Unfortunately... "Out of stock due to component shortage! Continue to check availability on web".

Dogger, thanks a million for the test and pictures. Both looked great after the test. The CorBon "looks" like all the other tests I've seen, flattens out to resemble a "slug", big damage to internal organs, slows penetration to acceptable levels from the high velocity rounds. Good ammo, both of them, Speer Gold Dots are my second choice for SD. Thanks again, Sir, take care and be safe.
