Should I do this Trade?! (Bodyguard 380 for Kahr CW9)

I am highly considering doing this trade, but I would like some opinions before I go through with it. Here is the trade offer: My S&W Bodyguard .380 with all original paperwork and box, 2 6+1 magazines, 1 remora holster, 1 DeSantis holster, and two 50 round boxes of .380 ammo. In return I would receive a Kahr CW9 with night sights, two 7+1 magazines, all original paperwork and box, an IWB holster (unsure of which brand yet), and one 50 round box of 9mm ammo. I am not sure if the Kahr would fit in my Remora holster, but if it would, I would keep the Remora holster and just give him the DeSantis holster which is worth $50 anyways. What are your thoughts and opinions?

I'd do it. Unless your a pocket carry person everything about the CW9 is an improvement.

I've never played with a Body Guard but I'd do the swap in a minute.

The main reason I would want to do it is because I'd feel more comfortable carrying a 9mm than a .380. I am a very skinny guy (6'1" 155 lbs), so it isn't all that easy for me to conceal. I haven't shot my BG yet. Also I feel like the built in laser on the BG is pointless. If the situation arose where I had to draw my weapon to stop a threat, I highly doubt I would remember to turn the laser on while drawing, even though the button is located right where you rest your trigger finger (a button is located on both sides for both lefties and righties). The BG does have decent sights, but nowhere near as good as the Kahr CW9 night sights (I'd assume; I've never held a Kahr).

Hiding a CW is a piece of cake. I envy your skinnyness, I used to be lean and mean, now I'm must mean.

I think the upgrade to 9 is worth it in every respect. You can get a laser if you ever want too. I agree with your thinking in that respect also.

I have a laser on my PM45 but mostly I use it for practice. It fills a back up roll for me also so by the time it enters the picture I might very well be needing the help of a laser too. Hopefully never find out.

i would go for a cm9 but the cw9 with night sights used to me is worth 380-400

I am sorta skinny, 6'/178# and have a CW45 that hides very easily at the 4:00 position in a pj IWB holster, and I think the CW45 is a little wider than the CW9. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

what bawanna and deano stated is the way to go. DO IT, NEVERLOOK BACK. apples and oranges between a 380 and 9mm

9mm is the smallest I feel comfortable carrying, so I'd jump all over that. I think .380 is ok for summer, but I don't feel confident in it in the winter when it has to penetrate several layers of clothes. You should find a way to conceal it very well, I carry a CW45 much of the time and have little trouble concealing it under a loose fitting t-shirt.

I'd probably do it. I think the CW9 is a nicer gun. That's as long as you don't need pocket carry anyway....

Pocket .380s are special to me. Even though my PM9 pocket carry has replaced most of my .380 pocket carry there are some pants pockets and pants with material where only my .380 will work. I suggest you keep the BG and add a CM9 to the rotation when you can afford to make the purchase. If 2 shots from a .380 cm won't stop the bad guy I doubt a nine would; I suspect you've crossed swords with a bad guy with a warrior spirit or someone on drugs and your in deep dodo.

Thought about it some more-definitely make the trade. Then, if you miss pocket carry, get an LCP. Or a P380 if money's not an issue!
