After only a couple magazines this pistol developed the nasty habit of ejecting the magazine on the last shot. It’s been a week and the promised replacement parts have not arrived from Kahr. Since I have a CCW pistol match at the club tonight I needed to come up with a way to make this pistol semi reliable. Seeing homemade grip adaptors made from bicycle tubes gave me the idea. I made a grip adaptor from an old tube then added an extra strap around the bottom of the grip to hold the magazine in. I can roll the strap back when I want to eject the magazine but it holds the magazine in place when the pistol wants to experience premature ejection.
Yeah, a new pistol should not look like it is being held together by rubber bands and though I’ll take the CW40 I’ll actually compete with my KelTec PF9 that this was supposed to replace. I’ll give Kahr until this coming weekend to get me the promised parts. If the pistol is not functioning reliably Saturday it’s going back to the LGS. I’m REALLY hoping I can get the bugs work out though because the CW40 carries and shoots well otherwise.
