OK, I give up!
What's the $%^&*( secret to putting a CW45 back together after cleaning?
My hang-up - and the slide's hang-up, too - has been that the slide would not clear the extractor. I jiggled things around and finally got past it - but without knowing exactly what I did.
Until today...
While trying to re-assemble after a good cleaning, I experienced the usual hang-up on the extractor but this time no amount of jiggering worked. Took a break, went back to it and the slide did move over the extractor - but not all the way.
As of now the slide misses lining up on the frame by about a quarter inch - and I don't want to try to force anything.
I am used to pistols that assemble and dis-assemble without a lot of trouble and I figure there must be an easy way with Kahr, since so many here seem to love them.
But if this thing won't go back together, then tomorrow it goes back to the dealer.

Did you watch the video at Kahr.com?

There's a disassembly and assembly... takedown video below the gun's information page. It's the same for most models.

The back of the slide is started onto the plastic rails which guide it onto the frame. Usually the slide will slide on without jiggling the trigger, but that usually helps it get past the cam/sear.

extractor or ejector , I am thinking the slide is hitting on the front portion of the ejector which just take a tad of a push down on the ejector to get past that. The polymer rails are mmerley there to help u guide the slide on the gun properly, what why is telling us is right.

It is not rocket science but if u take ur time and study what ur doing u will have no issues.

I have watched the video and I have re-assembled the CW45 two or three times in the past few days.
But now there is a problem: the slide WILL NOT go all the way onto the frame.

My CW45 has always required some manipulation of the trigger to cover that last little bit of travel:

Greg:
Your video exactly nails the problem I'm having - but mine seems to require a lot more jiggling and for sure a much longer time.
I'm hoping this will get beter with more breaking in.

Exactly^! :) If you look at the cocking lobes in the back of the frame as you are putting the slide on, you will understand exactly how to jiggle the trigger to get the cams to lay down out of the way, and the slide will go the rest of the way effortlessly.
