I thought I would start this off to show some love to the rest of our fine firearms.

My SW1911TA Stainless, wearing Tiger Stripe G10 grips from VZ

http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp257/bigapple828/photo-45.jpg

My home defense piece... Beretta 90 two frame wearing a 96 INOX upper. Also the original 90 two 9mm upper in 2-tone Cerakote Coyote Tan

http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp257/bigapple828/photo-22.jpg

http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp257/bigapple828/BerettaCerakote3-1.jpg

One of the easiest 9mms on the planet to shoot... My Ruger SR9c, along with the Kahr and the other two (1911 with original grips)

http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp257/bigapple828/photo-18.jpg

And my DPMS 20" Hbar upper on a Rock River National Match lower. Optic is a Redfield Revolution 4-12x by 40mm on Burris PEPR rings. Stock is a Magpul ACS, grip is a Hogue, the foregrip is a ProMag, and the bipod is a Winchester. Also a Rock River tactical flash hider

Enjoy the eyecandy and let's see some pictures of your very own!

I agree, especially if that's a DP52.
I love .22 handguns, they make up a good portion of my Ruger collection.
Here's most of them and one of the AMTs:

Here's a pretty Para. I bobtailed it and whittled some handles.

...if that's a DP52.
I love .22 handguns...

Yes, that's a DP52, a very well made PP clone. I enjoy .22s as well. That's Beretta 948 above is a .22lr.
Here are a couple more;
American Arms PX22. In the dictionary, next to "Saturday Night Special" is the picture of a PX22 :D
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/ripley16/PX22003-1.jpg

Buckmark Field 5.5 that came with a cheap but fun red dot scope.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/ripley16/Buckmark003-1.jpg

My first .22, bought in 1968. I've never touched a better .22 target gun than this... a marvel.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/ripley16/Pistols/Woodsman003.jpg

My latest .22, a Bersa Thunder 22. Not close in quality to the Daewoo, but very fun to shoot.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/ripley16/Pistols/Current%20Pistols/Bersa22015.jpg

Does a FNH 5.7 count as a .22? The flash of a flamethrower, the roar of a cannon, the recoil of a Woodsman.

I have that same 3rd Model? Woodsman. It truly is a joy to behold. I have a striker reset issue to figure out but it's still a forever keeper.
I need to get back on that and fix it though.

I do shoot slightly better with my Smith 41 but its a very close race.

The Series 70 was the only 1911 that I kept. That pic was before you made the awesome grips for me. :)

Thanks, DKD! I don't think it was me that gave you the NRA instructor links. If it was me, then I've finally lost my mind. :p

And just for the rifle afficianado's although relatively lame following that pile of 03 variants my Garand, and a 17 Enfield, and maybe a bit of my Spanish Mauser wearing a Swedish Mauser stock.
Oh there's a good chunk of my prized Winchester 52C as well.
On top of that rack is a Dutch Beaumont Vitali. Anybody got one of those. Have to look again but it shoots like an 11mm bullet. Never seen a cartridge, would like to find one some day.

Call me dumb but I gotta ask. What the heck do you have all them lovely 03's settin on. Is it for that purpose or perhaps a bassinet recruited for the purpose?

Long as we're playing 20 questions, did you refinish them stocks or were they that gorgeous from birth?

dkmatthews
04-25-2012, 09:45 PM
That thing is called "The Learning Tower (http://www.littlepartners.com/)". The boys used to be little enough that they needed that to see what was going on at the kitchen counter or my workbench. Now it just takes up room in the house.

Five of the six stocks are genuine USGI military issue. One of them is a Boyd's stock to replace the sporterized stock on a 1932 '03. I'm just getting started on returning that rifle to full military dress.

Bawanna
04-25-2012, 09:52 PM
The 3 furthest away must be 03/A3's based on the shorter front hand guard area? All the bolts line up but those have ladder sights up front. OR a more likely guess is the nearer ones are match rifle versions, naw, wouldn't they have ladder sights too?

I feel like a noob again.

This is a shop-built clone of the venerable Hk91A3 that a late friend of mine left me a few years ago. He used a bare Hesse receiver and welded in the components of a like new 1976 date German G3 demilled rifle. Of course it helped that he was a precision Tig welder at a local Teledyne aircraft plant with some AWESOME tools!

I gets 1.2" 100 yrd groups and after 1400 round the I'VE put through her,not counting the previous owner,I can proudly say that not nary a malfunction has occurred. Something I can't brag about on ANY dozens of other guns I've owned/shot in 35 yrs and counting... My baybee....

I like it so far. I am trying different inserts to see what works the best. The factory front sight is working fine with the Skinner.

lol. How do you like the mepsrolights? I am getting a set put on my G19 this week (hopefully). I have Trijicons on my CM9 and love 'em, but my dealer says the Glock Trijicons are on infinite backorder so I am going with meps.

When I got mine the Trijicon HD sights were not invented yet. If I was to do it today. I'd get these. Trijicon HD night sights (http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product1.php?id=HDNS). Okay, Barth! You've GOT to explain the reasoning behind six barrels for a G27!

I never intended on having six barrels.
Really wanted a G33/357. But the Talo EXO guns only come in 9 and 40.
I know Glocks can switch calibers with just barrel and mag changes.
So I got a Talo EXO G27 40 and an OEM Glock G33/357 barrel and mags.

GDHPs nose dive and FTF bad with the G33/357 barrel.
I mean every other mag lockup *)(&*(&*** bad.
My P239 eats the same ammo out of the same box like candy!
Glock perfection my ars.

So, mad as hell, I order a second 357 barrel.
A ported Wamma Jamma 357 directly from Storm Lake.

As I'm waiting three months for the barrel to be made, finished and engraved.
I run across a $120 Storm Lake 40-9mm conversion barrel from a distributor.
Ammo shortages, cheap practice, why not 9mm too?
I get this barrel in three days.
It's more accurate than my Glock 40.
But with GDHP 124 +P it tears a ragged hole in the target.
https://www.t-mobilepictures.com/myalbum/photos/photo36/f8/97/f32bb8edff48__1329324119000.jpghttps://www.t-mobilepictures.com/myalbum/photos/photo38/cf/75/361912cd428f__1332544688000.jpeg
Now I'm impressed.
Is it the Storm Lake Barrel or 9mm vs 40?

I order a G23 4.02" 40 Storm Lake from MidwayUSA.
It's better than the Glock OEM 40.
But can't touch the 9mm SL with GDHPs.

I'm coming to the realization that the 9mm is really going to be the winner of this contest.
Especially with the low recoil.
I don't want the short barrel GDHPs, and the best ammo like 4" barrels.
If this is going to be my SD gun I want the best.
G23 4" barrels will work fine in a G27.
So I get a Storm Lake G23 4.02" 40-9mm conversion barrel from MidwayUSA.
And to my surprize this little monster is dead on
with Federal HST 124, Winchester Ranger T-Series 127 +P+ and Speer GDHP 124 +P.

Now I'm thinking this story is complete.

Storm Lake G27 357 4.16" Ported Black Isonite QPQ on Stainless Steel.

Yes it shoots, and it's very accurate. It spent the last 50 or 60 years in a gun cabinet and never saw the light of day. I've been trying to find the date of manufacture on it. It's a model 1905. Around 1920 they began heat treating the cylinder, and those had serial numbers starting around 81000. This one is serial number of 16xxx
