Hello folks,
I am relatively new to Kahr Pistols but in the last four weeks I have purchased a new CM9 followed by a new CW45 and then a used PM9.
My questions are mainly concerning the PM9. When I dry fire it, I notice a little hitch in the trigger pull usually accompanied by slight movement in the slide before it breaks. I did some research and found that this is normal. However my CM9 and CW45 both have smooth uninterrupted trigger pulls all the way through the break. I have also dry fired a new PM9 at a local gun shop and it too has a smooth trigger pull. The new guns are all late 2011 early 2012 manufacture and the used PM has a Nov. 2010 date of birth. The previous user said he only fired it 100rds and I have yet to fire it. Will my PM trigger get better? And are the newer PM/CM9s coming out with better trigger pulls?

Here is what I would do. It could be that part #14 trigger bar spring is grabbing a tad on the bottom of the trigger bar. this can happen. With the slide off the gun look down inside the grip from the top and on the right side u will see the trigger bar and that curly cue trigger bar spring. It rides on the bottom of the trigger bar. Put a dab of grease right on that area where the little spring rides on that trigger bar. . The slide raising thing is IMO a normal thing so put that behind u but if u look on that right side back b y the end of the grip u will see the top part of that trigger bar where it engages inside a cut out of the slide. Put some grease on that area. In time rounds will smooth this all out. IMO nothing wrong iwth your gun that rounds down range won't make it better..
welcome to the forum, post back if positive results.

I hit the trigger bar at the curly cue and at the top part where you specified with grease. Now I just need to make some range time. Thanks for the info.

Can anyone tell whether they think recent manufactured Kahr PM/CMs have a better trigger pull than pistols manufactured two years ago or later?

same trigger pulls, no difference. they just get better over time.

Fired 50 rounds through the PM9. I had 3 failures to feed using Federal American Eagle. It looks like the round is getting stuck on the feed ramp. If I remember correctly it was always the third round in the mag. Two of the failures were with a 7rd mag. The trigger pull hitch did smooth out a bit but is still noticeable. This is a used gun that the previous owner said he only fired 100 rds so I guess I give it another 50 rds or so. I also fired 50 rds through the CM9 and it has been flawless after 200rds with 6 and 7rd mags.

go to the kahr tech section and hit on the propper preppng of ur kahr thread and scroll on down , the 3rd round thing could be follower related. A very easy way to check it out and an easier way to fix it.
check it out, I think thge issues are in the magazine and not the gun itself: Just sayin. Could also just neds a few hundred more rounds through it but when a gun acts up on a certain round count every time (when it does act up) then that is an indication of to me magazine issue. the \gun can't count but the magazine if a follower is grabbing the mag release button and it can at around round 2/3, certainly can duplicate it..
Many here will also tell u to concentrate on getting that 6 round flush fit magazine perfect and IMO screw that extended magazine. U would not be the first to have issues with the extended mags in PM9 or CM9.

I agree with Jocko about the seven round mag. Several people have had a problem with them. When I got my PM9, I got two extra six rounders and gave the extended mag away without even trying it. Another cause, although remote, is the ammo. If the gun is still tight the fairly weak Federal ammo could effect the cycling. Due to the third round thing, I seriously doubt that this is the problem. If Kahr has a issue with anything, it's the quality of the mags.

I too have this little "hitch" right near the end of the trigger pull on my new CM 9. I have a 3 other Kahrs of various vintages none of which exhibit this. I'd be interested in any ideas on the source, pretty sure it's not the trigger bar spring.

put some gun grease on that right side towards the rear wher u see the top part of the trigger bar. If it ain't in the trigger bar spring, it has to be there.

I use American Eagle and Speer Lawman almost exclusively as my practice ammo. I didn't know the American Eagle was considered to be weak ammo. I know that Lawman is loaded to the same specs as their matching weight LE ammo. I thought Federal loaded the American Eagle to the same specs as their Hydra-Shok ammo.
