Picked up my new PM9 today and gave it a good cleaning and lubrication, then took it out back. Fired 35 rounds of PMC Bronze with mixed results.

Really impressed with the lack of perceived felt recoil. Big improvement over the Kel Tec PF9 that I had prior. The trigger is great. Overall quality appears high.

I was hoping this would be one of the ones that ran flawless from the gitgo. Not happening. Looks like it will take a while to break in.

On 14 of the 35 rounds I had misfires. It would fire a round then on the next trigger pull nothing. I would pull the slide back about an inch, release the slide and it would fire. This happened repeatedly. Maybe not going into battery? Otherwise it was good overall.

Cleaned and lubricated again. Will try 50 rounds of Blazer Brass tomorrow and see what happens. Does anyone have any experience with this type malfunction with the PM9?

Not with the PM9 but P380 did the same thing. I tried everything nothing fixed if. Sent back to KAHR and perfect since then. You will find good help here though.

Hi, Warbird1.

Sorry to read that your CM9 is having issues.

Do you have just the one magazine for your CM9? Perhaps what you are experiencing is a mag issue. Trying a different mag might be useful if you've not already done so.

For what it's worth, I have a new CM9 and have had no issues with mine, using two different mags.

Good luck to you.

I had an issue, different one then yours, out of the box with my PM9. Once you get the issue resolved you'll have a great carry gun. Stick with it even if it means a trip back to Kahr.

I think I would give it another 100+rounds before doing anything drastic. If u did the kahr lube chart thing and cleaned the gun and striker channel using the poropper preppng thread, and it still gives light strikes after another 100 rounds a call to kahr will be needed. Is when u get light strikes,,,is the slide going back into full battery?? or not partially closed??

Simple I know, but are you letting the trigger all the way out? Its a long reset on these kahrs n if ur used to shootin somethin like a glock, u might short stroke the trigger. Just a possibility....

Good suggestions......some thoughts:

1. Two magazines came with the weapon. Same problem with either one in use.

2. I have had the same thoughts on the ammo. Will be trying both "Critical Defense" and " Golden Saber" to test this theory.

3. Been using revolvers for 33 years. I believe I can safely rule trigger pull out.

The weapon is extremely tight. Hopefully it will improve as it wears in. I picked up 100 rds of Remington umc today to go with 100 rds of Blazer Brass that I have. I will be firing Monday until I exceed the 200 rd recommendation by Kahr.
