Darn it, I took the new to me PM45 to the range this morning for a 200 break in. The magazine doesn't lock in easily and requires pressure on the bottom to make sure round one loads. I can see the magazine is loose and moves up and down a litle bit when I press on bottom.
Serial SV2833, when was it made if anyone knows?
On the seven round mags, second round stovepipe every time. I would immediately load the other round and they would fly thru my CW45 without a glitch, so it must be the gun. I found silver shavings in the barrel when I cleaned, very tiny. I ran a box or Gold Dot 230's at all speeds of fire and they fed perfectly.
I think all is magazine catch related. It also blew the white dot off the front sight. Reckon I ought to return to mother ship and have fancier sights done as well as repair of mag catch.
Otherwise, very accurate. I was shooting next to a US Marshall and he came over to see what the heck I had and was surprised at the groups, considering the size of the weapon.
Do you all like better sights, I'm thinking they might install for free since they will be messing with it anyway... Customer service is great with these guys.

If your PM45 is an early example, it may have the hybrid plastic/metal mag catch. The all metal versions are more durable.
My PM is only a PM40, but I really like the Meprolight night sights that were installed after I bought the gun.
I would start with an email to service@kahr.com. But, a phone call to (508)795-3919 works too.
Best of luck!

I'm not sure this is anything like what you're experiencing, but the SV# rung a bell. mine was SV2835 and I had problems because my "stripper"... the lower leading edge of the slide that pushes the top round in the magazine forward... was not beveled and was resting on top of the rim of the cartridge. See this thread on mine:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1464&highlight=bevel&page=2
You might also check that the "notch" is there where the the front of the recoil spring assembly fits into the slide... otherwise the spring will try to make one there and chip pieces of metal until it can move a little more as the barrel goes up and down in firing.
I think that mine had the notch, but was definitely missing the bevel.

I think the newer guns have the bevel and notch. The problem seems to have been rectified a couple of years ago. All my newer Kahrs have both, but my PM45 built in 2008 didn't have the bevel. It never caused a problem, but I beveled it anyway.

I checked mine and the serial # on it is sv33xx. Made in Jan. 2010. It has the bevel and the notch mentioned earlier. I'm pretty sure there are threads on this, you could do a search. There are pictures there that show the bevel and the notch.

Thank you, I have great confidence in the cust. service guys. I almost feel like a weapon they have tweaked is better than new. reliability wise.
I can't wait to get the little bugger tweaked.

I looked it over carefully tonight and with an empty magazine, it snaps in place fairly well. With a loaded mag, it's very difficult to get mag to seat and then it is loose as heck, moving up and down with finger pressure with slide locked back.
I think it's mag release and the missing white dot syndrome.
