So I picked up two Kahr pistols last week, and just got a chance to go out and shoot them yesterday. I paid $372 OTD for the CW45 and $350 OTD for the CM9.

The CW45 was very tight when I got it and after disassembling it and cleaning it, it felt much better. I'd also like to say that after all I read about things you should do to a Kahr before you first shoot it, I was a bit disheartened. I realize they can be a bit tight and all guns can benefit from a break in, but I'll be damned if I was going to sit around racking the slide for an hour.

I just took it out of the box, cleaned it, lubed it, and let it sit with the slide locked back for about 5 days. I did not blow out the striker area with Gunscrubber.

I did the same with the CM9. Cleaned, lubed, let it sit slide locked for 5 days.

Range Report: CW45

I fired the following ammo through my CW45:

PMC Starfire JHP
Remington UMC JHP
WWB 230gr FMJ

Speer Gold Dot +p
W Ranger SXT

I started with 230 grain ball, no FTF, no FTE using the slide lock to chamber rounds. By about the 15th mag, I started trying to chamber by slingshotting the slide. It worked perfectly. The gun shot very well, and after I got used to the trigger, groups began to tighten up. Recoil was stiff with some of the loads, but not terrible. I fired the pistol limpwristed a few times, and it still fed perfectly (although the aggressive grip checkering hurt a lot more doing so)

The only failure I had with the gun was trying to get it to chamber my reloads. The OAL was a bit too long and I had to grab a mallet/dowel to free the round. It was really stuck. Once I extracted it, I ran another 50 rounds through the gun without a hiccup.

Range Report: CM9

I fired the following ammo through my CM9:

Remington UMC FMJ
WWB FMJ
Speer Gold Dot +p JHP
W Ranger SXT JHP
Federal Hydrashok JHP
Remington GS JHP

I used the 7 round and 6 round mags when testing the CM9. I also had a Hogue handall jr. on the gun as I figured it would be harder to hold onto than the CW45.

Overall, I ran about 150 rounds of ammo through the CM9. No FTEs, FTFs, or issues slingshotting the gun. It ran 100% perfect and digested everything. I even mixed up the JHP in the magazines to see if I could get it to choke. I was much more accurate with the CM9 but that was probably due to the lighter recoil and more control with the Hogue grip. Those Hogue wraparounds tighten my groups up on any pistol I've put them on (Sig 239, Glock, 1911, etc)

Summary

Both guns ran exceptionally well, through a multitude of different ammo. The Speer was the most accurate in both guns but recoil was sharp. I really enjoyed shooting them, and I'm not worried about reliability. Both of my guns are newer production and after the reading I've done, it seems as though Kahr QC was in a slump for a few years previous. These guns were very well machined, didn't have a lot of plastic shavings in them after shooting, and the slidestops held open after every mag in both guns. Neither guns would be what I would call "too tight." Couldn't be more pleased.

Good report Krevo, but not all that surprising. I don't have a CM9 but I do have a PM9 and CW45. I've never had a issue with either, but I don't shoot reloads. Of all my pistols, these two are carried about 90% of the time. I belt carry the CW when I can and if I can't, I drop the PM9 in a pocket.
