Can we get a gallery in this section for just the PMs and CMs? I know some of the other Kahrs are sexier, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I have a thing for petite ladies.;)

Typical PM40's. Top - just plain stock stainless with a gold bead front sight (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=123610&highlight=gold+bead#post123610). Bottom - Kahr's DLC finish with night sights and some parts treated with Caswell plating (http://www.caswellplating.com/metal-finishing-solutions/stainless-steel-blackener.html) stainless steel blackener gel.

I ordered a set of the Talon rubber grips last night, I have the handall jr but don't like how it manages to slip down just that little bit. I like the look of the Talons.

I say B.S. to that. They would have to prove to me how the coating or alteration caused the specific problem before I would accept no warranty coverage.

Good Morning,

The Kahr Arms warranty is void when any unauthorized repair/ and or alteration has been performed to any of it components. This includes coating any of the metal components. As we do not authorize any non-factory coatings, having the coating applied to your slide would void your warranty.

Have a great day from all of us at Kahr Arms

itsthelaw (http://kahrtalk.com/member.php?u=9281), "Hijacked the fashion show here"?? There are many that coated their Karh's, I was also thinking about it but found out that it "WOULD" void the warranty. Email attached in my previous post. I just point out that someone would unknowing VOID their warranty! All I was doing was bring that to the attention of others before they made that mistake. I just wonder if someone that was thinking about coating their Kahr have seconds thoughts now? I was just trying to do a service here by pointing that out, kinds sorta thought that is what this board was about. I just wonder just how many others think I was hijacking this thread? I also wonder how many others did NOT know they were going to void their warranty by doing the coating?? If there is a question maybe others should email Kahr and see the response from Kahr. I just wonder why Kahr makes a concealed carry like the CM9 with the stainless slide?? That is the reason I wanted to coat mine... Just my 2¢

I'm a manufacturer who offers a product warranty so long as there are "No modifications whatsoever to the original delivered product." I challenge anyone to find any warranty that allows warranty service on any modified product. Hijack rant over...:D

Drill - I am sorry that my sarcasm was not evident, and I may have offended you. When I watch my gun porn, I don't like those annoying ads about voiding your manufacturer's warranty popping up. Again, sorry to offend.

Can we get some more CM and PM porn up in here? I like the artistic abilities of some of the forum guys. Well done...so far! Would love to see some warranty-voiding mods!

Does that show fingerprints and other stuff? How hard is it to maintain that shine?

JFootin

Yeah, it shows fingerprints. The SS is pretty hard, so hand polishing with Flitz once or twice a year is all that's needed.

I know for sure there's a Hogue Handall Jr. that works pretty well. I only had to trim off about 1/8" or so to keep the bottom of the grip frame unobstructed.

I sometimes think we learn as much about taking pictures around here as we do shooting stuff. You seem to have it figured out. Me, not so much.

The background is a white sheet of paper. The setup is on my kitchen counter with the blinds open, I don't have a light setup to eliminate the shadows completely. Lightly overexposed to wash out most of the paper and add detail to the black gun, then just a touch of photoshop to adjust contrast levels and brightness to give the black guns that "wet" look.

Bawanna
05-11-2012, 01:35 PM
To summarize, I'm way over my head, there's no use for me to try to do any better and I best stick to whittling and leaving the picture taking and fixing to those more qualified such as yourself.

I am gonna try a white background and I can open the blinds although I usually take pictures at night. My son tried to help me some last couple times with slightly better results.

You done real good.

Have you heard? Kahr is having a sweepstakes where they placed 5 golden barrels in CM9s and shipped them all over the world. If your CM9 has a golden barrel, you get to tour the factory that's been locked up for years and get a lifetime supply of Kahrs.
