It's unfortunate that violence was required to ensure an honest election. however the "Vets" seemed to have done their best to avoid it, and only met force with force when it was required to accomplish their goal. I was born in Knoxville, and lived there until I left for college at sixteen, and I have never heard this story.

Yeah, I thought it was worth posting. The only thing that would have been better is if they caught the two lead crooks, tarred and feathered them and rode them out of town on a rail! :banplease:
I was born and raised in Tennessee but had never heard of this. Thanks for posting it.

I think those days are long gone. Now they'd call in a SWAT team or the National Guard and you'd be arrested as a terrorist if you survived.
