Cheapest ones I use are super-EL-Cheapo nine inch paper plates and a roll of black pasters. One black paster in the middle and staple it up to the target board...
The pasters were leftovers from some long ago Highpower match and the plates were $2.50 for a 100.
Good enough for pistol shooting out to 25yrds...

Like Planedude said, paper plates work great. So does an 8.5x11 sheet of copy paper. :) If you are in that shooting a handgun, you are good to go for defensive shooting. I only break out the fancy targets for dialing in optics and irons on long guns.

thanks all,, johnh; i usually buy 1 target at the range and my wife prints off copies of targets at work..then just clip them to the range target due to target size requirements,, works well..

Amazon.com has quite a variety of targets for a fair price

I enjoy printing off pictures of certain politicians after Corel Drawing a bulls eye on them, and attaching them to the required sized target my indoor range specifies. It's great fun and people often ask if they can have a couple.
