Can anyone tell me what an "A" at the end of a model # designates? For example: PM9093NA

From my knowledge of Kahrs model numbers the PM = model, 909 = 9mm, 3 = SS slide, N = Night Sights, A = ????.

I tried finding this elsewhere on the forum but had no luck and there is no mention on Kahrs website. I know this is something probably many of you could answer easily. Thanks.

Thanks for the response. Good question. I will let you know.

As you can see from my signature my next gun was going to be a CZ 75B. But sometimes things don't go as planned. I went to go dump my Kel-Tec PF9 because it has proven itself to be completely unreliable, and since its no fun to shoot either there was no sense in keeping it. Rather than just take cash I though about trading for something. Went to my LGS and another guy was in there looking at a PM9 and he asked the clerk about a CM9 because he didn't want to pay the PM price. The clerk offered him a good price I thought ($675 w night sights). I mentioned to the guy I had a CM9 and loved it. He asked if I wanted to sell it and of course I asked how much he was willing to pay. I mentioned mine also had night sights and he offered me $475. With the $125 I was offered for my PF9 and the $475 I could sell my CM9 for, well that would be $600. I figured $75 + tax to trade up to a PM9...why not. Unfortunately I didn't have the CM9 with me and he didn't have cash (I don't take Visa) so we exchanged #'s and will complete the deal in the next couple days. I noticed on the PM's box the model # and was just curious. Can't remember if there was a spent case or not.

I tink awhile back someone even called Kahr and asked about the A thing and the reply was "WE ARE NOT SURE"

THE SPENT CASE NOTATION SURE MAKES ALOT OF SENSE to me: Just sayin.

As per Pg. 27 of the Operating Instructions...

A: Inventory management nomenclature that currently has no meaning and is no longer applicable. ;)

As to the spent case, I did not receive one with my PM9094NA.

I'm thinking the "A" might be the spent casing. I did some searching on Google and found this to be listed as a CA approved gun, and my understanding is they require spent casings. Not 100% on that but it makes sense. I just hope this PM turns out to be as flawless as my CM was, but I'm sure it will be. It is a Kahr after all.

Well, there I go again... shot my mouth off in another post about no way to reduce the length of trigger pull and here I see STP= Short Trigger Pull...

I'll just **** now.

I could be wrong but I believe the STP models are with external safety only.

I was talking to someone at Kahr and that is what they told me. He said it was really nice but not available for me in CA. I didn't want the safety any way.

I'm in CA, but no A on the end of the model number and no spent casing. I have not heard of the spent casing California thing. I'll have to check that one.

I was told a while back by Kahr that the A was used for "spent case" designation. Some states require a spent case with the gun. I was also told the A is no longer used.

Got the gun (PM9093NA) and no spent case. As far "A" no longer being used, I don't know about that because my box is marked with it. I am calling Kahr Monday to find out this guns b-day and I willl ask them about the "A". Not that it matters, just curious.

Did you receive an instruction manual with your gun?

If so, check pg. 27.

The black plastic box/case that my PM9094NA came is has the PM9094NA on the end label also and like I said previously, pg. 27 states the "A" is no longer applicable!

The BOB of my PM9 is 6/2/2011. They obviously were using the "A" at that time.

So...what did Kahr say about the "A" at the end of your serial #?
