Aw man... George Lindsey passed on. What a bummer.

That man put the name Goober on the map...

You call someone a goober, they know what you're calling 'em!~

I remember seeing him on HeeHaw reruns too, still doing Goober.

He was a one-of-a-kind character actor... and he did it so well.

What's sad is that I remember the original programs

Goober was a great addition to Mayberry, very funny man. R.I.P. Goober! Sad news.

My dad toured someplace on the east coast a few years ago and saw Floyd (don't know his real name) still alive. That really suprised me because He had a stroke in real life during the series years ago.

Does anyone know how many others of the original cast is still alive?

My favorite line from Goober on "Andy Griffith", "Judy! Judy! Judy!" His impression of Clark Gable (as I recall) to impress a date.

Howard McNeer (SP) (aka Floyd) died in '69.

Andy, Gommer, Opie and Thelma Lou are still kickin'

Jim Neighbors (Gomer) got a meritorious promotion to Lance Corporal back in 2000 or there abouts. Given by the Commandant himself no less, at the same time R. Lee Ermey got one to Gunnery Sergeant (Gunny). Neighbors said it was one of his greatest honors that.
