Well where do I start. Loaded up some 40 loads and also had some factory left overs and also some defense rounds.
Got out to the forest with the family loaded up the mags rack the slide and bang slide stayed back I drop the mag checked inside nothing out of the ordinary loaded her back up rack the slide click and bang stayed back again I did this for well over 200 rounds. It just would not function like it is supposed too.
Any idea's on what could be going on.
It did this with both factory and my reloads my reloads acted better ( better as once in a while it would function as normal) less issues with a round chambering.

Most likely: Firearm was assembled witht the slide lock spring on top of the slide lock lever instead of underneath. Happens to most people who assemble the firearm without checking the manual that recommends inserting the slide lock lever oriented at the 4 o clock position and rotating it carefully up to the 3 o clock position and keeping it underneath the spring. Might have come from the factory that way.
Second, since reloads work occasionally:
clearance between the nose of the bullets in the magazine and the slide lock catch that catches on the magazine follower to lock the slide back on the last round is T I G H T. if even a little out of spec it can catch the nose of the bullet in the magazine and lock the slide back pretty reliably.
Can check by removing the slide, re-insert slide lock pin into frame withou slide in place, and insert loaded magazine. see if the slide lock pin catches on the bullet nose just before the magazine clicks all the way into place.

If neither of the above try shooting left handed to see if your thumb is hitting the slide lock during recoil, It happens often enough not to just dismiss out of hand.

Thanks I will check on that. I have to take it apart here shortly as I got to clean it. If I remember correctly I rotated the pin up when I had to re install it back. As it would not go in straight.

You got this backward, Gliderguy. :) The spring is supposed to sit on a little shelf ON TOP of the slide lock lever.

Correct! :)

Jfootin, that will teach me to post after I have been up for 20 hours straight. Had to read it twice and count on fingers and toes to realize I had said it wrong but knew what I meant, if you know what I mean!:o

Thanks all that posted what I need to look at I will test it out this weekend in the woods again see if it helps with my issue. Everything looks good compared to the photos on the other threads but when I cleaned it last night I made sure I rotated from 4 to the 3 position. Wish me luck
