Just picked up my new Kalifornia approved P380 today and I absolutely MUST post my first impressions even before the shooting starts!
The pistol is CLEARLY a first class piece, with meticulous attention to detail evident.
The trigger pull is amazingly light...we'll see how that goes I'm sure.
The Kalifornia model comes with a loaded chamber indicator which appears quite well made and incorporated into the design. At this juncture I cannot see reason to wish it non-functional and I personally like such devices as long as they do not negatively impact function. It does have a magazine disconnect which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but again, being able to safe the weapon by dropping the mag has many pluses and no REAL downside. The notion of dropping one's mag in the middle of a stand-up firefight only to be rushed by the bad guy is somewhat overblown IMO, especially with a pocket sized gun and caliber.
The tiny pistol feels like a toy it's so light, and is EASILY carried in a front pocket, back pocket....T-shirt pocket (just kidding).
The little gun promises to be a great CCW.

It's always fun to have a new gun. I just feel bad that you have to live under california gun laws.

Congrats! I recently bought a P380 CA model, and I have been happy with it. I have 350 rounds through the gun so far and no major problems. I cleaned and lubed the gun according the the directions in this forum and it worked out.

I like the loaded chamber indicator and magazine disconnect feature. Having the LCI is good to make double sure there is a round in the chamber before you carry the gun that day. Magazine disconnect is nice to have the ability to easily render the weapon useless if your ever in a fight with someone and think they may get ahold over your gun(hopefully you give them the lead cure before it gets to that point).

Anyways I have tested Speer Gold Dots for my carry ammo and they work great, I would suggest those or Buffalo Bore's gold dot loading.

+1 on the Buffalo Bore for the P380. The +P version definitely has a WOW factor ( I stole that description from Wynn).
