After the mag drop problem was fixed, thanks for the parts Kahr, my CW 40 still had two minor annoyances. It would not eject a live round and the legendary denting of the case mouth. After carefully looking at the jammed ctgs I decided the problem could be the ejector was too long. My other concern was that the fired case pivoted on the edge of the ejector. In theory this puts extra stress on that point and could lead to a fracture of the ejector.
So I pulled the slide and carefully filed a slight radius on the corner of the ejector. No more jams and no more dented case mouths. The unexpected benefit is that fired cases used to land in the 2 O'clock to 3 O'clock position. Now they land in a fairly close pile at 3:30. So instead of half going in front of the firing line where I could not retrieve them they are now easier to save.
