Ok guys carrying my new CM9 now on duty. Looking for info on quality smiths that work primarily on Kahrs for some polish, grip work etc. Thinking folks on here would know best.
Thanks

accurate iron.com. he is backloged right now but get on his waitig lis.t He is worth the wait, He knows kahgrs very well.
He did my stipplying workand slide melting and refinsihing. u can pull u jocko's custom PM9 here to see his work. IMO polishing insides is kinda of a waste of money, kahrs are so smooth u will not notice any difference IMO. If u urself wantto soup ur cm9 up a tad, go to the wollfs gunsprings andorder their 5# striker spring, It is super, drops right in, doesn't change trigger travel, so its not harry, and NO u won't get light strikes either. Othat than that just shooting does more good to smooth a kahr than any dollars u might spend, but for grip work there are many here who can do . We have some good forum p[eople who can do grip stipplying to. I might add I have seen Bawana grip work andit is awesome, Ask and u shall recieve onthis forum.

On duty with a Kahr CM9? What sort of police agency do you belong to that allows a little 6+1 CM9 as a service weapon?

accurate Iron is good, he is reasonable,he is backlogged to. get on his list. He is a leo and a glock shooter and he is very good with kahrs. He did alot on my PM9 and he has done alot on members of this 4um to. He can slide melt also. Jocko;'s custom PM9 pictured on this foruj is most of accurate irons work..
APW COGAN is also another great guy on kahrs to. he can do any kind of refinsih work u want, grp stippling, course we have some great 4um members here that can do that also. Bawanna is one of them.

Probably not uniformed cary but plain clothes usage. Fairly common for detectives, but not my cup of tea for on-duty uniformed
usage.

Probably right. The old Detective Special was just 5 rounds, and the CM9 is 7 rounds with much quicker and easier reloads.

Two local gunsmiths do really good work on Kahrs. I will be having Frank Duren radius, re-texture frame, and do a coat on my CW45 in the near future. I will of course post results here. His site is:

Jeff Cockrum is most known for his work in IPSC/USPSA circles--in particular amazing 1911 custom builds. He can tune just about anything and is my go-to guy for broken things. I have sent him many folks and they all came back satisfied. His site is:

Tell either one that John Howard sent you.

I have a Kahr CW9 and it was customized by Dark Ops Customs by Frank Duren mentioned above. The mods include snakeskin custom grip, an action job including rounding trigger and slide stop, front serrations cut into the slide that has been polished & painted w/the elite finish, softened edges around the port, and jeweled hood. Also added a Dawson Precision rear sight but don't like it so much. It turned out sweet and I would post a pic but I'm a newbie and can't just yet.
