Picked up my MK9 a few weeks ago used, gun had lots of holster wear and was filthy like it had never been cleaned. I replaced all the springs with factory springs and the gun shoots great and runs perfectly. I noticed today after a 200 round session of various factory loads (no +P) that every piece of brass has the normal primer strike plus a smear where the case moved while the pressure was still high.

Is this normal with the smaller Kahrs or do I need to fix something?

That smear is pretty much normal with striker fired guns. Kahr mentions it on page 23 of the manual:

And, its not the slide unlocking too early, but rather, the striker being forced forward against the primer upon recoil from firing.

My glock does it. It isn ormal. SOME GUNS ACTUALLY HAVE A SPRING IN FRONT OF THE FIRINg PIN/STRIKER TO RETURN IT, WHERE AS SOME use enertia only to do it. either way seems to work with no issues.

Every Kahr owners manual discusses this to..:blah:Just sayin

CJB: If that's the case then why doesn't every other firearm in the world do it?

jocko: Sorry, my 1998 vintage pawn shop pickup didn't come with an owner's manual.

no problemn kahr's webb site will let u print off the entire manual..:blah: the largest selling firearm in the world GLOCK does the same thing. alot are not striker fired either, so it can't happen. It is not a design flaw..
