On the back of the gun where the polymer and the slide back meet, does anyone else's feel like the polymer is sticking out a little bit. I have 300 rounds through her and I hadn't noticed this before (I think). It almost is like it needs to be filed a little bit. Just checking to see if anybody else has this. Thanks!:D

Haven't noticed that with my CM9 which I got about 5-6 weeks ago.

Is that a cosmetic issue or are you experiencing some function issues?

It's come up now and again on the forum. Doesn't effect anything functionally. If you want to take the time to send it back Kahr will take care of it.

As of now no malfunctions. Doesn't really bother me I guess unless it will cause problems later. Love this gun and do not want to send it in and be gun less. Thanks for all the help!

It is normal. And will not effect function.

But, it is easy to make it perfectly flush if you want to. I did it to mine and it looks and feels great. I Just filed it down a little at a time checking for fit, then smoothed and blended the finish with some very fine sand papers.

I sanded mine too. It looks perfect now.

Best regards.

Just noticed this on mine in the past week and was wondering the same thing. My pistol has 1,300 rounds through it. Glad to hear it's nothing to worry about.

Yep. I fooled around with it a little this weekend with some 600 grit paper to make sure that if I went after it I wouldn't make an mess. I worked on it just enough to see that it will indeed go away with a little light file work.

why would i9t cause problems later???It ain't gonna move. If u don't like it take a file and make it the way u want it. These guns don't warp with age.

My CM9 had the same thing, only it was more pronounced than I had ever seen before - plus it had a sharp edge to it. (I'm familiar with the CM9s of family members and friends, so I had a pretty good basis for making this judgment.) It also had a ding in the left side of the slide. I decided not to file down the warped polymer spot because it might have left it too thin and weak.

Neither of these two issues would have had any effect on the operation of the gun.

In the absence of the ding in the slide and with some reassurance from Kahr that filing the warped spot would not weaken the polymer at the spot or void the warranty, I might have just filed it down myself and "shot the CM9 like I stole it." But, since the gun was new and the ding really bugged me, I chose to send it back. Thanks to encouragement and reassurance from Bawanna and Jocko, I am convinced that Kahr will make it right.

I really like the little gun and eagerly await its return. Once I get it back, prep & lube it, rack the slide at least 200 times, and break it in properly at the range, I fully expect it to perform flawlessly like all the other CM9s with which I am familiar. I'm so sure of this that I went ahead and ordered a Silent Thunder Slim II holster for it. The holster should arrive by the end of this week. The gun should be repaired and returned by the end of next week. I'm really looking forward to my first trip to the range with it.

My pm9 has the same thing. After a year and around 600 rounds still looks the same, no better no worse. If it bothers you kahr will fix it but it won't hurt anything to either smooth it out or leave it alone. Pretty sure cm's and pm's use frames from the same bin... I can't see somebody checking shared part numbers and separating them due to minor cosmetic differences. Though being a pm9 owner I'd like to think that was true:cool:

Yep, my PM9 stuck out just a little. I took a very fine rat tail file and just touched it a little and knocked off the sharp edge. Careful and don't overdo it. I just stroked mine three or four times.

Part of the polymer frame (CM9)on the ejector side extends past the slide at least 3/16 of an inch. I just noticed it the other day. Glad to know it does not affect the structural integrity of the gun. I think I'll take a file to it.
