hi can you guys recommend a good light weight iwb holster for a pm9 with crimson trace? I currently have a garret silent thunder fusion which is pretty nice but wont work with my new crimson trace laser installed.

THC (Tennessee Holster Company) makes IWB's for PM9's with CT...Their turnaround is very quick and customer service it top notch...If you don't want the tab that moves, you can order one with the belt clip sewn in...Just like a Don Hume but w/o the 8 week wait and it will fit the CT..

Just this old farts opinion... Carrying IWB/AIWB generally means the grip will be close and snug to your body and for this reason I personally would not get a holster with a sweat shield or with one that could not be cut away. My concern is, and it has happened to me in practice, that your thumb gets behind the shield as you obtain your grip and can result in a muffed draw. I know that for many here on KahrTalk, perhaps most, this has not been a concern or an issue. My thinking is one less thing to go wrong should you ever need to execute a quick draw.
It looks like the pjholster could be easily modified.

My two PJ's have a very narrow sweat shield, but I honestly can't see how your thumb could get behind it. The grip is fully exposed and available. Maybe I'm not understanding your post Bill.

I have had good luck with holsters from the alabama holster company, and SHTF holsters...

If you are like me you will end up with more than a few holsters for it...happy hunting
Hello,
I posted the PJ link because he does make great holsters and he is easy to work with. You can get him to make the holster how ever you want it really. Many here have made changes to them and got them way they want them. I have seen so many great posts here about these holsters I knew that was the right choice.

I agree w/ Bill K on the sweat shield. I tried on of those and didn't care for it. I ended up (at the time) w/ a Comp-Tac Infidel. It's got enough Kydex along the slide to keep it from digging into your body while also protecting the slide from sweat...but leave the grip totally exposed. A PJ is built the same way, and that's next on my list to buy/try b/c it looks tons thinner than my Infidel (which I love).
So, +X on the PJ, but you might also consider the Infidel from Comp-Tac, just not quite as thin as the PJ me thinks.

A narrow sweat shield may be the ticket.
Could be it is just my experience and has happened to no one else...
With the holster off the belt, gun in holster, try your grip as if the gun wasn't in the holster. I want no Kydex/leather between my thumb and the gun. The problem/issue might just be mine alone but I have had, before cutting away the sweat shield on several holsters, muffed my draw because on a quick draw my thumb got behind and pinched the shield. The effect was I'd start to pull the holster up along with the gun. This has happened to me with my leather AIWB holster and Kydex pocket holster before removing their shields.

Have you checked out the holsters from N8^2 (Nate Squared) Tactical? These things are awesome -- especially in hot weather.

pretty nice recommendations there, i like the pj since it looks very light and thin but gotta ask since its all kydex no leather doesnt it shift? and after awhile be uncomfortable? what about gun wear looks to me it might wear spots faster than leather would? idk... i saw one holster were you can change the top molded part of the holster part for different guns but keep the same base, but i forgot were i saw it, anyone know?

The PJ is as good as it gets! Light as a feather. Doesn't shift AT ALL! That's why it and my CM9 become a part of my body so that I cannot feel them there at all. Only carry combo I've ever seen that would do that. Talk about comfortable? I have to reach over there to the sweet spot just behind my hip to confirm that it is still there! And no, I don't think it wears faster because it is very smooth and leather is grainier with more contact area.

David:
#1. Crossbreed minituck at ~$68. Leather Tuckable
#2. DeSantis ProStealth N87Bju2z0 w/mag carrier ~$29. Nylon.
#3. DeSantis Nemesis N38BJu2z0 ~$24. pocket holster.
All work well for their intended purpose.

Are they made to fit the CT? His site doesn't show that option.

:) I just got mine in the mail today. I had him put a 10* cant on it and also a finger hole in the bottom of the clip to aid in removal.

Pics, yes
We need more pics in this thread.
I'm looking for an IWB that's tuckable for my CM9 with CT.
An important factor for me is comfort against bare skin in a hot, humid climate.
Let's see 'em!
