I can't decide which route I want to go.... If I can get a cm40 for about 400 ish OTD and put night sights on it i'll be looking at a 550 dollar cm40. Do I fork over the cash for a pm40 with night sights for around 675 new or try and find one used for a tad under 600? Help me make up my mind already!

CM40 new unless you can get a used blacked out DLC PM40 for $600 or less. JMHO

PM = 2 mags a little better sight mounts, different barell = better deal.

I would go with the new one on the premis that you prob won't know how "used" the pm40 is. Had the same problem trying to choose between used pm9 and new cm9...

Went with the cm9 and glad I did...

BTW got night sights, and two extra mags for less than the new pm9

Personally, I always prefer to buy guns new. But you can't discount what jeepster had to say. I guess you need to look at the cost difference.

Get 'em both and shoot one with each hand.

IMO always best if u can to buy new. you then have a 5 year warranty. PM9 is the way to go, IMO. not like candy where u eat it and then have to buy more, buy the gun u want and it iwll stay with you a very long time..

I bought a used PM40 and couldn't be happier. But I knew the seller. He sold all his semi-autos and only has revolvers now.

Thinking about the pm more now.... I guess new is the way to go, but what do you think about a blunt nose pm?

x2 I tend to try and buy new if possible. If I know the person and how they treat their guns I'll buy used.

yeah new is always a great way to go if you can do it... I am probably going to do that unless i see something i can't pass up on a local forum or auction site.

I picked up my PM40 back in March, and also bought a PM9 about a month later. Both were purchased new.

As far as the PM coming with two mags, the extended one can go in the trash as far as I'm concerned. Just make sure to take out the mag follower for a spare because it's going to break. At least it did on my PM40, which I had to send back to Kahr today because of the mag follower breaking. 200 rounds through it and it's already back to the manufacturer. Thumbs down.

If you want to shoot lead, you'll need the CM40. I picked up my new one today.

Hey! Be sure to let us know how it works out. If you can figure out what they do to solve the problem, so much the better. I polished off a little metal from the end of the feed ramps on mine. The problem has now gone away completely. :D

Using a rubber abrasive wheel on mine resulted in almost no change in the appearance of the end of the feed ramp where I worked. If Kahr uses a file or a grinder, you might be able to see what they have done when you get it back. I will be watching and hoping for your shared insight. :)

I like the blunt nose better.

oh my a blunt nose fan. indeed for me that is the true kahr compact. I just bought another used blunt nose PM9 about 2 weeks ago. didn't need it but Itraded my unneeded lcp for it heads up. For me I would take a used blunt nose over a new one as I feel confident with aqny used kahr in the sense that if i buy it right, I can make it right if it is not..
