I'm having a lot of ftf using 7 round magazines in my cm9. I have 3 and 2 of them have new wolf magazine springs. Has anyone had problems using the 7 round magazines in their cm9?

if you search the forum there have been numerous posts about issues with the 7-rd mags in the CM/PM9

Both of my 7 round mags were a pain. Nosedive FTF fest. Three things fixed it.
1) Slingshot mod to the follower. It's a sticky in the tech section
2). Follower mod. The one to keep the follower from hanging up on the mag release button
3) grinding small amount off of the slide lever lock pin so the bullets stop hitting it as they are being chambered. You may or may not need this step.

I have used the one that came with my PM9 and the ones from my P9 without any issues at all. Someone had written that when the shooter grips the pistol and puts pressure with their pinky, the mag shifts slightly in the mag well causing the issues. You could try that and hopefully that will correct the issue. If not, I would contact Kahr and request a trade for 6 rounders.

When my PM9 was new I had issues with the 7 rounder. Contacted Kahr and they did a swap for a 6 rounder. 6 rounders have been without issues other than they do not drop free.
I shouldn't even say this because it will jinx me I'm sure but, the 7 rd. mag that came with my PM9 has been flawless since day one.
It is part of my normal range mag rotation.
In fact it rides in the console of my vehicle as backup.
I replaced the ugly black base with one of the standard flat SS bases.

I had an issue with mine at first but found out it worked well with just 6 rounds in it. After about 600 rounds or so I decided to try the 7th round again and for some reason it works well now. Don't know if the spring loosened up over time or just have gotten better watching my grip etc. All I know is now it works fine.

Have 2 of the 7 rounders for my CM9, 600+ rounds and counting, zero malfunctions...
Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones...

I have two, they have both performed fine except for the one that came with my PM9 had two FTF using Hornady Critical Defense on the third round out of the mag. The tip stuck on the feed ramp. Case in point to test fire your carry ammo from all your mags. Speer Gold Dot performs flawlessly. I have done no modifications to the mags.

I use a 7 and 8 shot mag with my cm9 at the range . The 7 shot mag is from my cw9 ,not the one that has the finger support. Both run fine.

If you don't feel comfortable doing them, 6 rounders would be more trouble free. At least my 6 rounder that came with the gun has been flawless. I have not heard anyone complain about their 6 round mags.

Must be nice. They don't do that anymore :(

Whenever someone posts a problem on the forum and asks for help, there are always a few members who rush to point out that THEIR pistol has always performed flawlessly. They don't offer advice or encouragement, they simply seem to want to revel in the fact that they are problem-free. The Germans have a word for this -- schadenfreude -- which means "taking pleasure in the misfortunes of others."

I prefer to interpret that as affirmation that the flaw in question is the exception rather than the rule. I seriously doubt anyone takes delight in another member having issues.
This forum on the whole is populated with friendly helpful people. Many try to help folks with problems work through them. Most give a lot of reassurance that it can be fixed and try to put the issues into perspective.

My CW45 won't shoot from the 7 round mags. My CW40 has no problem with them.

Had a nosedive issue with the 7-rd mag my first time out with my PM9, and one time this morning (second trip to the range), same mag, and oddly enough, same brand of ammo, Federal Champion. I've been shooting a variety of brands my first 2 times out, to rule out any brand fussiness (my Kimber Pro Carry II can be fussy with certain brands). With the advice from forum members, I am making sure that I'm not gripping the mag extension with my pinky--fortunately, my hands are small enough that my pinky barely touches the part of the 7-round mag that extends below the grip.
Both nosedives happened with the first shots with the 7-rd mag. Maybe my PM9 needs to warm up a bit? :p
Regardless of these 2 isolated issues, I'm absolutely in love with this gun. I will continue to give the 7-rd mags lots of range time, and will look into the suggested modifications before my next trip out. I've got over 400 rounds through the gun, with no issues whatsoever with the 6-rd mag.

You are, of course, free to interpret these posts as you see fit, but if you reflect on it a bit, you might see that your interpretation doesn't quite work.
First, a person who posts here with a problem already knows that "the flaw in question is the exception rather than the rule." That's WHY they're posting here with the problem. They know the gun should NOT have this problem.
Second, if you reread my post you'll see that I was not referring to the many "friendly helpful people" on this forum. I specifically referred to the few who offer no help, no advice and no encouragement, but simply declare that THEIR gun/mag/whatever works perfectly.
Such people may otherwise be "helpful friendly people" but in these posts, they are not. They may or may not have any bad intention, but at the very least, they are socially clueless. Whether intentionally or not, they are simply underlining to the unfortunate person with the flawed gun that he is indeed an unlucky sucker who got stuck with a lemon. That's not what someone in distress wants or needs to hear.
When someone posts to this forum with a problem, the responses should be solutions, sympathy and encouragement, not "My gun doesn't have that problem and it works great."

Contrary to your opinion, the posts declaring no problems with the 7 round mags are quite helpful to me as a new member and new cm9 owner that was planning on purchasing 1-2 of the 7 round mags. It lets me know that theyre probably worth a shot Your posts, on the other hand, offer no such benefit to anyone here that I can see other than perhaps a warning to noobs like me that perhaps all members are not quite as friendly as I'd hoped.

Never a problem with either of my 2 7-rounders in 2000+ rounds. I target shoot with them exclusively so I don't have to reload the mags as often compared to the 6.
If I pocket carry I use the 6-rounder, but on any other occasion, I'm packing 7+1.
