Paddle Holster Fit?

I have a Galco Matrix paddle holster for my CM-9. The paddle has a fairly steep curve, which causes the front and back corners to dig into my hip. The paddle is made of plastic. Do you think I could flatten the paddle out just by heating it for a while with a hair dryer? I thought I should ask before risking my wife's wrath for burning out her hair dryer. :D

If the hair dryer approach won't/doesn't work, does anyone have a Plan B? TIA.

Well, I tried pouring boiling water on the paddle while pressing it flat on the bottom of a sink with a pair of tongs. It helped a bit. I might have to try some repeat applications. I wish the Galco were nearly as comfortable as the Fobus I have for my .380's...

I think the paddle might be plastic rather than kydex but I can't swear to that. I don't know if a hair dryer would put out quite enough heat. A heat gun would do it or you might put it in a toaster over, not sure I'd risk the main house oven and let it heat up. It should actually try to straighten itself out. I know it will if it's kydex, but again I think it's something else.

I don't recall if you can remove the paddle part or not, that would be best.

A plan B in my mind would be to narrow up the paddle and just cut off a little bit of the offending curve. Many paddle holsters just have too much paddle in my book. I haven't looked at the matrix in awhile though so I can't say on that one.

OK, I'll say it publicly: You are a boy genius! The paddle was way too thick to be able to scissors, so I grabbed some tin snips and performed a little surgery. Then I took some sandpaper to smooth it out, and it works! I haven't tried wearing it all day, but I put it on for a few minutes, and the problem seems to be cured. And you are right: the paddle was way bigger than it needed to be. Even post-surgery, the paddle is still bigger than the one on my Fobus. Thank you!!
