I wrapped up the video and finished up the blog post on my recent test of Cor-Bon Pow'R Ball 70 grain 380 ACP. Test pistol was a Kahr P380. http://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/2012/05/ballistics-testing-cor-bon-powrball-380.html

Didn't really know what to expect from this one going into the test as I've never had the need to use Pow'RBall in any of my pistols, but I know some of you wanted to see a test. Once I understood what I was seeing, it was pretty clear that this ammo performs as advertised.

Can always count on your test data. I, like you, stay away from the gimmick ammo for the obvious reasons. While I noticed you were getting over 1,070 fps out of a 2.5" barrel (that's moving for a .380 IMHO), that means the longer barreled .380's could expect an even more faster load. I like to stay in the 900-1,000 fps range for my LCP, easier to handle.

Personally, I'll stick with the larger & slower Speer Gold Dot JHP, has been my preferred carry round in the LCP since the day I got it.

Great job, and again, thx for taking the time so others can weigh in on your tests! :)

Always enjoy reading your work. Being that this is my choice for carry load, I was really excited to see the results. Like you said before, you can't cheat physics. I'll live with the limited penetration (8"), but love that I still get over 1000 fps from the P380! Recoil is mild in the Kahr, and accuracy outstanding. I've shot mine out to 15 yards as mandated by the rules I have to live with currently. At 10 yards I could make one ragged hole with my P380.
Thanks again for the good work.

Good work, Bruce. I like your tests, though I'm still waiting for the Speer Gold Dot(?)... not sure if you've done that... and especially the Buffalo Bore driven Gold Dots. I carry the BB 90-gr Gold Dots and I bought the Speer Gold Dots for my wife, but she hasn't shot the new P380, yet. I know that she wouldn't like the BB version. :D

Thanks for your great work! I've been wanting to send some funds your way and just did ... a bit.
