It's been about a week in a half since I placed the order for the cw. I called to ask about a time frame they say they can't give one. Has anyone came across this before if so how long was your wait time?

Scottsdale gun club got it for a great price but just a little irritated that they can't give a time frame.

You could have searched from the many on-line dealers (like Bud's) and find the dealer that had one in stock in a price range you were looking for and buy from them.

If you have the opportunity to cancel your order and then order from BudsGunShop.com you should have it in a week or so at the most.

I guess I was lucky. Walked in LGS and walked out with gun! I have never had to wait to purchase a pistol. Have bought from internet, CTD, mostly rifles and have gotten them within a week. If they can't give you a date-look elsewhere.

I have run into the same type of thing. You order something and then later find out they do not actually order what you asked for until they get a large enough order together to get a break on price or shipping. One place I deal with informed me that was how they worked BEFORE I paid for my order, another place didn't inform me BUT they added my order to an order they had made earlier in the day. In the one case the guy informed me it would be there in about a week (I believe they called me also), the other place ordered more than I asked for and told me he would simply put it on the shelf in about five days and I could pick it up any day after that and pay for it then (I asked for four boxes, he ordered eight and there are still three boxes on the shelf a month later).
On another occasion I asked about ordering something and the guy checked with his distributor and the distributor didn't have it nor could he say when he might have it. Still haven't gotten the MK9 I was going to order that day...

Just a thought...
I'm typing this in a friendly way so please don't read into it what is NOT there. ;)
Consider supporting your LGS sometimes (and not beat them up on the price too bad). It is the only way they will stay in business and actually have guns on the shelves for you to physically hold. Especially support them if they are a good gunsmith, cause you may need them to be in business when you have a firearm problem.
Please notice I started with "consider" and "sometimes" and "too bad", so this is just a thought and I am NOT bashing at all. I'm not sayin go out there and overpay, but the LGS offers a "value added service" that the Internet can't offer... And that is worth SOMETHING, isn't it? Throw 'em a bone every-now-and-then so they don't disappear. Just sayin

I've purchased two pistols from my LGS within the last year and a half, which happens to be Cabela's about 10 minutes from my house. They had deals in both cases. Nice to go home with a pistol the same day I purchased it.

My favorite gun store does most of it's business by ordering products through Davidson's Inc. (galleryofguns.com). They do have a small display case of some of their biggest sellers so you can hold a gun and check it out. They were able to get my M&P Pro, when Davidson's showed 0 inventory. Took them about a week to get the gun in. The owner of the gun store said that often on fast moving guns, they don't get around to updating the galleryofguns site. They'll get a shipment in, and fill all the back-orders from gun stores, and are back down to 0 inventory. The LGS I bought my CW40 from, also ordered it from Davidson's. They had a CW9, and Kel Tec PF9 in stock, so I got a chance to compare them. The Kahr seemed to have a quality feel to it, where as the Kel Tec just didn't feel as good, or have nearly as smooth of trigger pull. So I went ahead and had them order the CW40. Of course reading all the bad press about the PF9 may have caused me to already think of it as something I probably wanted to avoid. I didn't know much about Kahr at the time, hadn't found this forum yet. But I had fired a friends CW45 and was impressed by the accuracy and the smooth trigger pull, even if it was a bit long. And my friend doesn't keep a pistol long if it has problems, so the fact the he'd had his CW45 for quite awhile meant that he thought they were good pistols, and he's had a quite a few guns, particularly since he got his CC permit, just as soon as he could once they passed the legislation.

I agree. My most LGS ask that before someone orders something that buyers give them the chance to match the price before requesting a transfer. If they can't match it they still get a transfer fee.
Now if I want a pre-owned one I go to them for a good deal.
