This time they are going after the right to peacefully assemble. The Tea Party is declaring it an attack against Tea Party Rallies, and other opposition assemblies of the people.
I know, it's one of those alarmist emails, but probably has some truth to it. Check it out if you wish at: http://govguns.atomazon.com/board1/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=218
It lists the bills as HR347 and 1794 so you can reference them yourself and see if you come to the same conclusion. I know much of this stuff is pretty alarmist, so do your own research, I'm just passing on the info I got. And putting on that other board since has little to do with 2nd admendment rights, and to not use up Kahrtalk resources. Take it or leave it. Doesn't matter to me. If you get something out of it cool, if not that's cool too. Just please don't attack the messenger. Well, go ahead if it makes you feel better, LOL.

You are constantly posting political propaganda from questionable sources. The moderators have already asked for people not to do this, this is not the proper forum. Even saying that you are posting to another forum and comments are welcome there is still posting it here and comments end up here. Please just stop! I'd like have have a political free zone during theses volatile political times. If people want to read, comment, get involved, they are quite capable of searching theses areas out for themselves.

Who needs to search... My email box is full of that bogus political spam every day. Then I have several friends who blindly forward theirs to me before doing a simple search to verify. I'm pretty good at programming and can tell you, based upon the programming style, most of this spam is coming from only a few sources. I would like to see a newspaper reporter search this spam back to it's originators and expose their financial backers.
BTW thetmansky, it was passed by the Tea Party House in 2012 by a margin of 399-3 !

Markis82, why do you read my posts that you find offensive? The title should alert you if it is political or not. I try to make it clear if it pertains to politics, for those who want to avoid political issues.
"You are constantly posting political propaganda from questionable sources."
Are there any sources of political information that are NOT questionable? I sure don't trust any of the major networks to give an unbiased opinion on anything to do with politics. You mostly get a leftist slant on these issues, and tricks like recordings edited to leave out important details as we saw recently at NBC while they were reporting on a controversial story that's been hashed and rehashed to death. My posts tend to be slanted toward the conservative side of issues. Is that the issue?
I realize that many of these letters ask for donations, and I try and disable all the links for to their contribution pages. I don't want to solicit funds for groups, just pass on what some of them have to say. Just because a story doesn't originate at some major media source, doesn't mean it's not true.
Why do I post these things? We are losing our rights a little here, a little there, the more rights we lose, the easier it makes it to take more rights away. The right the powers that be want to take away the most, is our 2nd Amendment rights. By eroding our freedoms, the right to protest, or to demonstrate, it takes away some of the people's power to express their opinions, and gives the government more freedom to ignore the people, and to carry on with their anti-gun agenda. I know some don't want to hear about it, but some do. How does this affect the 2nd Amendment? Suppose a candidate with Secret Service protection attended an NRA convention. You could be arrested and charged with a Federal crime if you hold up a sign, or otherwise "disrupt" the proceedings. Oh, and it's not just while the Secret Service are there, it also covers places where they WILL visit, and doesn't give a time frame, so if a Candidate is scheduled to speak in a place, and you protest a month before the event, you could be arrested (highly doubtful, but without a time limit, possible). This involves ANYONE receiving protection of the Secret Service, including foreign dignitaries. Hold up a sign protesting the genocide in the Sudan, and a Sudanese dignitary passes by, you could be arrested.
They've taken a big chunk out of the 1st amendment. Which amendment do you think will be next? Once the 1st amendment is fully compromised, you won't have to worry about my posts, as there will be no Kahrtalk, no gun forums, or anything else the government objects to. Heck there may not even be an internet as we know it,
where we are free to express our opinions. It's been attacked by congress several times recently. So you may not think this important, but I'm betting others do.
Just like CrabbyAzz, I get a lot of spam emails. Once in awhile I get something that I want to share with you good people. I figured those that don't want to hear about it will just move on to the next thread. It's not like I'm forcing you to read things you don't want too. The posts don't just open on their own, or do they somehow? (Serious question there, there may be a setting that opens new posts or something that I'm unaware of.)
You can also put me on your ignore list:
From FAQ:
Dealing with Troublesome Users:
Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?
If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:
Through your User Control Panel: User CP (http://kahrtalk.com/usercp.php), Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List (http://kahrtalk.com/profile.php?do=ignorelist). Then, type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

Regardless of if I find them offensive, as per forum rule, these type of threads are not supposed to be posted here. Rule #1 "All posts must be in some way firearms or shooting sports related."

Sadly, it has been signed into law by the pResident.
Youtuber's are getting pretty riled up over it. Calling for all sorts of things, I hope to not see happen.
Ok, here is how it relates to shooting, people are saying it's time we take up arms and replenish the tree of democracy with the blood of tyrants and patriots, to paraphrase Thomas Jefferson.
I do NOT want to see that happen. I do not promote it, or agree with it, but it's being said. I'd rather see congress work for the people, instead of against them.

To be fair, Markis, you should do the same with the Harley Pictures post. What goes on politically in this country has a larger bearing on our right to keep and bear arms than do pictures of Harleys. Just sayin.

Why don't you leave this to the moderators? You, as a member, can use the ignore list. Or, you can hit the "Report Post" icon in the upper right corner of a post and let your opinion about the post be known to the moderators. But you have no authority and all you're doing is stirring an argument, here. It is this—arguing and unpleasantness—that the new forum rules are meant to address. So you are quoting the letter of the rule while violating the spirit of it.
