MK9 Grip Screws??

Besides ordering from Kahr, is there any place I can get replacement grip screws? I just noticed after getting home from the range I was missing the right side screw :31: And I even Loctited the dang things down too after the last time they were getting loose!!

They are the same thread as a 1911, so if you can get one the right length or a tad long to shorten your all set.

You might try the tiny thin little O ring trick. That helps to keep them from backing out pretty good too.

I have to get a bunch myself, don't see them small enough in the usual places.

Thank you...Good Karma followed me today :D Which is very rare!!!

But I was separating my brass from the range and low and behold the last thing that I found in my brass bag was the missing screw...I washed it and now waiting for it to dry then add more loctite and put it back in the right spot...But I might order some extras for the next time it falls out :(

Not to hijack your thread but I had something like that happen one time. I was outside working on the wooden fence and had an electric drill with a philips head bit in it. I needed to get the bit out to drill so I reached for the chuck key that normally hangs from a plactic doohicky on the cord. well it was gone. I told the son it's got to be here so I started looking and in about 30 seconds found it.

The funny part was that it was all rusty from where it fell off 8 months earlier the last time I was working on the fence and I didn't even know it.

Now if I could just find my lost set of car keys.....

I have never loctited them but they do shoot loose. I make sure I have a dime with me to keep them tight while shooting. One of my p238's has aluminum grips and those screws shot lose but locktite cured that,surprised it didn't work for your mk.

My MK40 and Sig P239/357 like to throw their grip screws.
I make a point of tightening them after every shoot.

Technical Note:
The upper and lower screws appear to be different lengths.
And can not be swapped.
Seems to inter-fear with the mag if I put them in wrong.
I don't play with Kahr screws and get them directly from Kahr.
Even the grip screws that came with my Kahr wood grips are different
than the factory screws?

When I first got my MK9, every time I used it the screws would be loose, and I soon lost several screws. Very annoying!

So I ordered some replacements from Kahr. And then some wood grips. As Barth mentioned, the screws are of different lengths. If you use ones that are too long, they will block the magazine.

Then I used blue Loctite on the grip screws.

Several outings and many hundreds of rounds later, the screws are still all there and not loose any more.

Today, I was getting ready to put in a magazine when a different grip screw fell out, fortunately where I could see it. I really have to tighten them often, and I don't make them too tight. I am concerned about stripping the female threads in the frame. I really don't want to loctite them, but, I guess I may eventually do so, unless I think of something else.

Sometimes a little dab of finger nail polish works just fine, I prefer the less flashy colors but since it don't show anyhow I guess it don't really matter.

The thin rubber o ring works really well and many manufacturers are using them on new guns. I know my Para's all came with rubber o rings.
I need to get someplace that has some and pick up a bunch.

I was at the range Sat shooting my mk9 & mk40. The guy next to me was shooting an ar15 and brass was coming my way from bouncing off the wall. I felt something on my right hand after emptying a mag just thought it was brass. When I got home to clean the gun I found out it was my lower right grip screw. I forgot to tighten them as I was shooting.

I guess O rings would be good if one could find the right size. I will go see if I can find some. Also, is anyone else concerned about stripping the female threads on the frame?
