Use of the Ripley Retractor makes this much easier than the video process, and prevents parts from flying around. Easy to make and easy to use, the Ripley Retractor is a bent piece of coathanger that holds the spring off of the back plate while removing it from the rear of the slide. It gives you that third hand needed to do this quickly and easily.

I like to use little jewlers screwdrivers to push pins around.

Nice suggestion. I posted the video for the newbies who have never detail stripped a Kahr upper.

This is a real clever idea and I remember making one of those years ago after seeing a picture of it on the internet. I've since misplaced it.
Any chance you could give us the dimensions so I could make another one?

Is the fuzz on that Ripley Retractor necessary for proper no-slip retention? ;)

The size depends on the model Kahr you own. The length is just long enough to go from the breech face front to the point where the striker guide rod is pulled away from the rear plate. The goal is to hold the parts in place while you work, so as to not allow them to fly out spontaneously and of course to relieve the pressure on the rear plate. The ends need only be long enough to capture the breech face, and the striker guide securely, both need to be about 1/2" or so.
The fuzz is optional. :D

I think I'll give mine a bikini wax. :)
