We had a fellow here in lower AL use a .22 Jennings on a black bear,he sorta lost,a foot. According to the game wardens he had shot and killed a small cub he came across while exploring a trail,thinking it was"cool".

THEN the 300lb mamma who was less than enthused about his "trophy" chased him up a tree,when the guy could climb no farther,the mamma got his foot in her mouth and gnawed most of it off,and he finally got enough rounds in her body to get the bear off him,it died a while later.

The game wardens found him while tracing the gunfire sounds and got him to the hospital. He got charged with a slew of offenses,like killing federally protected species. Dufus ,he goes by Hop-a-long now I guess....:p
