Congratulations!
Now go shoot it.
Consider replacing both springs. You just don't know how many rounds are on the originals.

We'd all hope the PD typical guns were nearly worn out.... not sure why we think most are gun guys and gals.
Dirty no big deal and holster wear looks cool. Nice find!

Mine was from a Chopper Jock you know it wasn't used much vs Narco
My guy is very meticulous about his stuff to, which helps. Kinda like the person that has an iPhone 2 yrs later it still looks brand new vs the one thats tossed and scratched up. Sometimes you get lucky...

How did you determine that the K9 was carried by a particular officer? I would like to find out a bit of the history on mine.

I wqould be very surprised to hear if the NYPD would ever let out this informatiion on what gun was assigned to what officer. Now if u bought it directly form the officer that is a different story..

Got my k9 today looks as new the only thing I found wrong was someone put the guide rod in the wrong end of the spring. I like to never go the slide off. I think if I would rob some place I'd do it in NY. Will take it to the range tomorrow.

Took the k9 to the range today and found that I had to hold the front sight white dot higher than the back sight white dot. I had to stack the front dot on top of the rear, does this sound correct for the kahr k9.

What it sounds like is the loooong Kahr trigger.
Keep practicing with the gun and the sights will settle in to normal. It's you and the trigger, not the sights.

Thanks Tinman, I was shooting low but center the target, cocked the front up some and began to hit center. I know how the double action has thrown people off so I'll just keep shooting and focus on my trigger pulling.

That is correct for all the Kahrs. They are "dot the 'i'" sights.

Smoother, Like Single Malt Scotch? I think some people read these posts about these trigger pulls and they believe there's a "Dramatic Difference" It got into your head time to Brain Douche...Put on your big girl panties and Shoot the damn gun or sell it to me! (My offer: $50 for the piece of crap!)

Purchase a S&W J-frame and practice with it in DA. Once your finger gets conditioned to that you will be able to handle any trigger-cocking action made! Seriously,

I apologize for boring you folks with another NYPD Kahr purchase story. I bought a K9 from a local gun shop today for $450. I realize this is not a "deal". I picked it from several available, and it looks unfired, possibly unissued. No wear on barrel hood or grips, no holster wear anywhere. It's a blackened stainless gun, looks like 2005 mfg.
I haven't owned a Kahr in many years. Assuming it proves reliable I will carry it. I have had several Kahrs in the past. The one I'd like to have back was an MK9 "special edition" that had a Birdsong finished slide. The trigger on my new K9 feels like an Elite.

it possably could be the elite trigger . the nypd guns to my knowledge were stainless finish and not the dlc finish, to put that into perspective also,, if it has the nypd trigger andyou think it could be the elite asit feels so. good. IMO just goes to show that there is nothing wrong in owning a gun with the NYPD trigger system..
