Strange Depressions in Barrel Hood of CW40

I've been having trouble ejecting loaded rounds of Federal 180gr practice ammo from WalMart from my CW40.

I noticed that there is a tear-drop shaped depression forming on the underside of the barrel hood at the same place that the bullet nose gets hung up.

Is this normal?

I'll try to get a couple or three pics up here, if I can figure out how to do it.

I have that same depression on the underside of my CW40 barrel hood. I don't think that's what is causing the bullets to hang up. On your other thread about ejecting live rounds, I explain how I filed some material off of the undside corner of the barrel hood, unti the rounds cleard without hanging up. Sorry for the bad photo, my camera doesn't do too well with closeups. I think you can also see where I removed matierial from the bottom corner of the barrel hood so it would eject unfired rounds.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, that circular-looking indentation on the left rear side of your picture is what I was noticing on my CW40.

I've got to read how and where you filed material off of your barrel so that you could manually eject unfired cartridges.

If I were at a range where a range officer ordered to clear the line (unload weapons), I would be unable to comply with my pistol as it is now.

I just tried to post one of three images (check 4 posts up), and all I got was text...no image.

I'm no technical wiz with this, so do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

When I click the picture icon above the edit post window, I get a box asking for the "URL of image". I didn't know what to put there, so I just did the control v and ok thing, and the result is 4 posts above.

I don't think you can post pics until ater 50 or so posts. BTW Kal, I posted another pic on your other thread, circling where I removed the material from the barrel hood.
I used a hand file to remove just a bit of material at a time. I don't think I removed more than 1/64th to 1/32nd of an inch of material before the bullet ejected fine. I just compared the ported barrel hood to the original hood, and I notice the new ported barrel has that whole corner rounded off. The new barrel with the rounded corner is on the left.
