I know this is not gun related, but it is shooting related. I made this compound bow target shooting station last night. The main beam slips into the base making it portable. It's mostly tubular steel, but not to heavy.

Thank you Longitude Zero, bows have changed since I last was into them. The things are fast, small, and accurate. I shot a groundhog a couple days ago from a little over 20 yards with that bow right through behind the shoulders, he didn't know what hit him. Can't wait for deer season.

Looks right handy. Well thought out.

I used to be a devout bow hunter back in the day and the bow technology now days is nothing short of astounding. My son got a bow a few years ago and I was pretty much lost.

Other than both launching shafts with points and fletching, nothing else was the same.

Lighter, faster, pretty cool. I still miss it from time to time.

Very nice job on your stand.

bow hunted all my life, kinda quit when the wheel bows took over. now when one walks into a group of wheel bow people with a recurve, they look at him like some "weirdo". No offense intended. We sold Bear Archery stuff for 25 years, been there done that..

Thanks gents, none taken jocko. Anyone that would not respect the skills of traditional archers are not worth the time of day. People like Gail Martin, Byron Ferguson, and Fred Bear are some of the best archers in the world, and have made a huge impact on the sport.

Fred was a personal friend of mine, when I sold his products. Not a nicer guy u could find, never bragged, knew what hard work was and he certainly enjoyed bow hunting to.

That's awesome jocko, I wish I could have met him. I think Bear is an underrated company. My first bow was a Bear Kodiak Special.

Very nice.

Here I turned a 1980's Hoyt target bow into a fingers hunting bow...
