Question for the forum regarding magazines

What is the correct orientation for magazine springs? I was cleaning one of my magazines, and the spring appeared to be backward. I was reading another thread here, and I wasn't sure. I switched the orientation, but the follower then angled down.

You want the higher side of the spring under the front of the follower.

The top loop of any magazine spring should follow the general contour of the feed ramp. This helps guide the bullet nose into the chamber.
