Just wanted to see a picture or 2 of your pooches (not beer guts! :40:)
I know a lot of us here own dogs, and me thinks one of the best things man has ever done was domesticating dogs IMO. From guarding us, hunting, giving the blind new eyes, detecting cancer, bombs, drugs, serving in war, and finding the lost/dead/fugitives, the best thing they give us is companionship.
I'll start:
This is Maggie, my dobie. The best dog and breed I have ever owned and from a great bloodline. Sweet as the day is long, but a fierce guard dog when needed. She occupies the house most of the day whether we are home or not and opts for the recliner often ;) She gets her exercise in my big old yard though.

We had a Collie years ago. I'd heard they run off every chance they get, not doubt looking for people to rescue so you can follow them and save the day.
Breeder said no they were great and never run off. I spent more time looking for that dog! I finally gave her to my mom who had a fenced yard.
Nice dog, real pretty but always on the run.
I've been a lab guy all along until the Beagle came along. We do get attached to our K9 pals, for sure.

No her heart disease is common in small dogs. She is 12 and they told us a few months ago that she had a slight heart murmur. Now, is is bad and the enlarged heart is causing breathing problems.

my trusty guard dog, Guinness (after all, she is black and tan) and her drinking buddy "Dillo". Thought I'd never fall in love with a canine again after losing "Boo-Boo", our 14 year old blue heeler, in 1988. Guiness "appeared" on our patio at about 18 months old in the Fall of 2005. We ran "Dog Found" announcements in the local papers for a couple of weeks, called all the vet offices, had her checked for the micro chip...... no takers:). Funny thing... well, really not funny.... I tend to plan my whole life around that damned dog:cool:
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b345/cowpi/GuinnessandHerDrinkinBuddy.jpg
Guinness is also quite the artist, particularly in sculpture type art. Our buddy "Tuscon" here on the forum has seen the beautiful screen capture of Guinness's work on another forum, and knows how much excitement and art critique talk was created by the display of her artistic genius. I'm sure he would agree it best not to give away free digital images of a masterpiece that would be worthy of display in the Clinton era museum of the National Endowment of the Arts;)

Nice pictures of the 4 legged parts of the family. Unfortunately they don't live long enough. My friends house burnt down with two of his dogs trapped inside. They were pretty upset about that.
NOTE to all DIRECT TV customers, the fire department said the DirectTV box started the fire, you might check your model number and check with DirectTV to see if it should be replaced. I don't know why they are letting this go, or if they've made any attempt to replace the bad boxes, but I'd sure want to know. A friend of my friend was having Direct TV put in his house when he found out about the DirectTV box catching on fire, and asked the DirectTV guy if his was one of the bad units, and the installation guy pulls out a notebook, and checks and says no, he has a good one. Well if they have a book that lists the bad ones, why isn't this public?

Well thanks muggsy. Good dog, I heard a Beagle won over all at the Westminster dog show a few years back but I know that there was absolutely no relationship between Odie and that dog. Not the smartest dog I've had but oozing with love and affection and few demands.

I've had five beagles over the years. Nuffin, Biscuit, Nipper Smokey and Rascal. When I would return from a week long deer hunting trip the dogs were the only ones happy to see me. Nipper and Rascal were two of the best rabbit hounds I've ever seen. The only papers they had were the Sunday Plain Dealer and then only until they were house broken. Life is a series of dogs. One day another will "follow me home".
