Hi again folks. Just in with the little "jewel" from a morning of chronographing what JHP brands I had on hand. I have about 400 rds of WWB through her now with at least one mag of following ammo:

Black Hills 115 jhp EXP...1188fps/362fpe
Speer 115 GD...............1134fps/330fpe
Federal 115 jhp.............1069fps/293fpe
Fiocchi 124 XTP............1034fps/296fpe
Speer 124 GD+p............1134fps/356fpe
Black Hills 124 XTP+p.....1178fps/384fpe
Rem 124 GS+p..............1090fps/328fpe
Corbon 115 DPX+p.........1148fps/338fpe.......2006 lot
Corbon 115 DPX+p.........1199fps/369fpe.......2008 lot

temp=85F, 3-5 rd avgs. Won't bore you with SD/ES unless someone wants it?

No big surprises. I had run most of these rds through a Sig P250SC w/3.6" barrel so I figured velocities would be close. The CW ran from 20-30fps slower to 10fps faster depending on load. Sorry to you folks that like 147 weight. I got several 9s that don't feed it well so had none on hand today. Accuracy was at least ok with all inside 10yds.
The Black Hills 115 EXP uses a Nosler bullet and is probably about as hot as you'll find a non+p load.
The BH 124XTP+P is great in my FNs and Sigs but had most recoil in CW.
DPX & 124GD+P recoil not bad at all. I had several boxes of that 2006 lot of DPX and it consistantly ran around 50fps slower than newer lots in several guns?
All these loads would probably work fine for SD but for good expansion and penetration, it's good to know my gun likes both DPX and 124GD+p.:D

Thanks, love reading this stuff. Been running BH EXP in my PM9 and BH 124 +P in my Glock 26. Like seeing your real world results.

Here is what Black Hills has on its web site for these two rounds.

115 Gr. EXP (Extra Power) HP
Velocity 1150 FPS
Energy 363 Ft. Lbs.

124 Gr. Jacketed Hollow Point +P
Velocity 1250 FPS
Energy 430 Ft. Lbs.

They don't say but my guess is their results, if not fudged, are from a 4" or 5" barrel.

Wow! I just noticed how close the stats are for the EXPs between you and BH.

Actually, I think Black Hills' 1150fps is a misprint? They were advertised and I think still are on most online ammo shops at 1250fps. They were when I bought my "stash" from Midway and ATG. The 115 EXP and 124XTP+P load both do well over 1250fps out of 4.7" Sig barrel. The 124 load is my "walk the dog" load when coyotes are active around here. Just checked Black Hills website, they list 115 EXP (which is supposed to stand for Extra Power) listed at same velocity as standard 124 jhp = 1150fps? 1150fps ain't too extra hot for 115 load. Think it's boo boo?

Very good info. I carry the GD124+p.
BTW you are correct about the Black Hills 115 +p., Website claims 1250fps
(& 400 ft lbs).

I think any 9mm getting around 400 fp at the muzzle isn't giving much up to the .40 S&W, 357 Sig or .45 ACP in a SD scenario.

very true, put the rounds where they need to go and the 9mm should do just fine...

The top 3 targets in first pic with "NR" on em were shot with the non-rifled barrel. Bottom two targets are first target shot with rifled barrel and first mag of DPX.

Bottom picture is from yesterday. That Black Hills 115 EXP load has been the most accurate jhp in every one of my 9s? Lowest extreme spread and standard deviation consistently. The 124+p load is accurate/consistent too, just hotter than I want to use in the CW. Cost usually runs $30-35/50rds so not as cheap as some or expensive as others...Like DPX. The EXP load is what I'd probably use when I get a CM9.

Oh did I say I love this gun?:D
