Hello, KahrTalk. My name's Rob. 23 years old. I've lived in WA for the last 5½ years. Spent the last 5 in the service out here, with a vacation to Trashcanistan tossed in there. Now I'm a C/O with the state DOC. Big fan of pre-MIM/pre-ILS S&W revolvers in .22LR/.38 Special/.357 Magnum.

Always was enamored by Kahrs and I finally got myself a NIB K9(093AC) about a week ago...seems to be a well made piece. ~300 rounds in the first range trip last weekend w/ zero issues. I do have a couple questions on a couple things, but I'll save 'em for their own thread. I'm new to this board, but not to forums in general.

I hope to learn more about these quality American pistols and contribute what & where I can.

Thanks,
-Rob http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g465/craig-robinett/tiphat.gif

Welcome fellow Washingtonian. I'm just a tad east of ya in Monroe.

Nice pair ya got there. Always been fond of the 66 myself.

Rob, welcome to the place and excellent taste in guns! 21 years in Corrections out in Illinois here. Remember the Menard Golden Rule: "Do it to them before they can do it to you"

I wish we could possess that mentality out here. I'm still in, towards the end of anyways, my academy; so I'm pretty new...but we seem to be very service-oriented towards the "offenders" in my particular facility. Lots of talking and counseling. Can't even wear steel toe boots or black gloves because "they're intimidating". New generation I guess :/

Thanks...I work in Monroe, there on the hill. Nice to meet another wetside Washingtonian! Yeah, the M66 is a great do-it-all piece. I've been needing a 9mm though, better for HD and the K9's a little lighter for summertime carry.

Kind a figured you was on the hill. Only game in the area really for a CO. I only know a few up there, kind of lost touch.

We use the range up there, don't get there often myself but once in awhile.

Welcome! I'm a bit further east yet, on the drier side of the mountains. Lived in Everett a few years back. You have great taste in firearms.

Welcome to the forum!

I was stationed in Seattle back in the mid 90's and lived in Everett. Still have a couple of buddies in the area who retired up there.

What is the name of the little hunting/fishing store there in Monroe? Sky Valley Traders? I know a guy that works there, or used to, by the name of Mike. Used to be my CO (as in Commanding Officer) when I was stationed in Seattle. Great guy.

That was a long time ago AJ. Pretty much a one man show now with the original owners son running it and not really doing it very well anymore.
Used to be a booming business and had some good guys in there.

Bob (who was also our mayor for awhile) passed on and it's been down hill ever since. There is a new shop in town call Epic who are trying hard to succeed. Doing pretty good so far.

Welcome to the forum. That's a nice K9 you have there. What branch of the service were you in when there?

Thanks. I just recently moved to Everett from Tacoma. In my first 3 weeks here, I had my MIL's tired slashed, her gas tank "sugared", both of our cars keyed and my windshield smashed with a rock...then they keyed the rental car  I'm hoping to move somewhere else soon.

Appreciate it. Looks like Bawanna knew more about that shop than me. I know very little about the North End up here, having been in Tacoma/Ft. Lewis for most of my time here in WA.

Looks like there's a gaggle of us here! http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g465/craig-robinett/sHa_grouphug-1.gif

I was active duty Army from JUL2006-DEC2011 as an Infantryman w/ the 2nd ID on Fort Lewis for my entire enlistment. I tried to re-up, but that was shot to hell, so now I'm doing this C/O thing and serving in the National Guard. I miss the Army terribly though and am giving this C/O job 'til then end of the year before I decide to go through all the red tape of going back in or staying w/ the prison.
