A new starter for my Yanmar tractor, $250. I was going to order a case of 185gr Hi-Shok .45 while CTD had the boxes of 50 on sale for $20.
Maybe I can still get enough to make it worth paying the shipping.
Hi-Shok's not my favorite, but that price is hard to pass up for 50. The 185gr bullet is supposed to work well from shorter barrels, like officer sized 1911's and the CW45 and PM45.
Less weight to get moving quicker I guess is the theory.
Just going by what the gunsmith down at the indoor range said about .45's and choice of ammo for different length barrels.
Everyone has their own opinion on .45 ammo. I'm not sure the Hi-Shoks will work with my Springfield, it doesn't like wide mouth HP, should work in the Kimber and CW45 ok. Might be a good time to let my 1911 expert have a go at the Springfield and add some decent sites and work his magic on it. Nice thing is he loves to start with Springfields, and make them either CC reliable or competition accurate. Seems like you can't have it both ways, his CC reliable guns are pretty accurate though, but not tack drivers like his competition guns, which are tight with little tolerance, which doesn't make for a good CC weapon.

Yep! My Kimbers and my Dan Wesson both like this stuff. It is soft shooting and makes neat, round holes in paper. :)

Too bad you are not closer to Tucson. I have more than I need on hand and could beat CTD's delivered price, if you were local.

Why, yes. I have been hoarding .45 ACP for the last several years. I am getting old enough that I probably should unload some.

My wife will have no idea what to do with it.

I'm going to test out my Storm Lake ported P220/45 5.10" barrel with
100 rounds of that Federal 230 HP, 100 Federal 230 HST
and 50 rounds of Winchester Ranger T 230 +P.

The P239/357 gets 100 Speer GDHP and 100 Federal Tactical JHP
and 20 Cor Bon 357 Sig.

FedEx has failed to deliver my Storm Lake and Sig OEM Barrel back to
Storm Lake three times in a row?!?!?

What is wrong with these incompetent people?
I'm shipping everything UPS from now on.

Enjoy your range trip Barth. I need to get out soon myself, got too many people needing things done and haven't been able to go. Tucson, that would be nice to get a better price on that. I think the gas to AZ and back would eat up the savings though.

Wish I could help with this dilemma. Wish I had that issue. Never had a too much ammo issue.
Doubt my wife would have a problem with my sons being shooters. She'd no doubt want some money to do her grieving in the Bahama's when I cross the river.

I love that ammo too. It shoots well in my 1911. Smooth and accurate.

USPS Priority Mail might be a better option. The small, flat rate boxes seem to fly to their destinations for me.

Small Flat Rate Box - Domestic Rate: $5.35 at the Post Office™

So long as it is NOT a serial numbered frame or receiver, yes.

The last item I shipped was a slide for plating. The rural gunsmith who did the work practically insisted on small flat rate boxes because USPS has NEVER lost a gun part shipped that way in all of his years of shipping parts as a smith.

Undoubtedly, you know that does NOT work for serial numbered items, unless you are an FFL.

I shipped my P239 slide to Sig for NS installation.
And now two barrels to Storm Lake.
That's my total experience with shipping gun parts.
I know the small UPS stores will not ship gun parts.
But they will recieve them?? weird.
The UPS hubs will ship, but FedEx was more convenient I thought LOL!

I heard a rumor that Federal Express and UPS were going to merge.

They are going to call themselves FEDUP :)
