Seen a Hickock clip yesterday where he tests out the XDS, I'd like to see him comparing the XDS with the PM45. He's long overdue with that one. PM is smaller and lighter, makes no sense pushing the XDS when it's inferior to the PM 45. Let me know what's your opinion?:86:

I love watching Hickock45 videos.
Whether it's a gun test, or how to clean a gun, it's always good stuff.
He's very honest and pulls no punches.

As for an XDs being inferior to a PM45???
Just because it's larger and heavier doesn't make it inferior in my book.

Although these new high tech bullets should expand from a 3 inch barrel,
I'm still leery of a .45 from that platform by any manufacturer.
What are we taking about, 700 fps maybe?
What kind of energy is that, 300 E?
You can easily see the .45 lob through the air in the video - LOL!

45s were designed for 5 inch barrels.
Even Speer, known for hot SD bullets, has a Short Barrel .45
and the test barrel is still 4.0".
It only produces around 360 E if I remember correctly.
The three inch numbers have to be dismal.

In comparison my MK40 Elite launches 155 gr Speer GDHPs
from it's 3.0" barrel at super sonic ~1150 fps speed and close to 450 E.

I love 45s in large service autos as much as anyone.
But I'm really of the thinking that other calibers
developed for 4" guns perform better from these new 3" micros
(9mm, 357 Sig, 40 S&W).

In the immortal words of Jocko,
I'm just saying...

+1 what Barth said
Enjoy Hickock videos, and the latest XDS. Man he rattles them off with barely any flinch from the gun.

Wouldn't you just love to have his back yard or wherever that is he shoots?

I think he would be lean toward the xds because of the trigger pull on the kahr... if you watch him shoot the pm9 he has some issues until he adjusts. He is a glock guy remember?

I'm pretty sure I've seen vids of his where he is complimentary to both the PM9 and P380.

I used to have a friend of a friend of somebody than knew somebody
that owned some property with a berm. And had a key to get in the gate.

We shot out there regularly until the land was sold for a condominium complex.
Open air, good friends and all sorts of targets.
It made for a fine Sunday of shooting.

Going back to an indoor range has been difficult to adjust to.

His hands and fingers seem big, size of small children. Maybe qualify as dependents on his tax returns.
No matter what the video, he seems to truly love shooting. 1000s of spray cans, water bottles, water melons later and he still gives a genuine laugh of enjoyment.

Guys even with the 230 gr hard ball you will get between 725-750 fps out of the 3" tube. It is not all about muzzle velocity...the bullet mass and diamter does all the work.
For that reason I tend to carry the 185 grain Golden Sabres or the excellent 200 grain Gold Dots and that has only to do with the better expansion acheived by vurtue of the faster slugs. I don't get hung up on all the muzzle energy crap any more. The proof is in the pidding so to speak...look to the field applications and results...you can make the math lie.

If you haven't done some extensive testing on both pistols. Making a statement like this makes no sense to me. The XDs has been out about two weeks now. Think we ought to hold off making foolish non biased statements before the pistol is on the streets a while.

If you like the PM45 more than the XDs fine but to say it's inferior IMO is garbage. You asked.
