No matter how bad you have it, someone is going through worse.
God Bless our men and women who are serving our country.

I'm thrilled to see the respect given to today's service men and women. Back in the day the treatment, by some, for us Vietnam vets was despicable. May have been even worse for Korean vets (the "Forgotten War") who were, I understand, largely ignored.

We certainly have much to be thankful for. Most of it, because of our military throughout history. Thanks for the reminder Tinman

Very nice Tinman! Really does put everything into the "Right Perspective"! :)
Good one Tinman. As I was about to complain of strapping on the "heavy" gun for my travels this evening. Guess I'll just shut up and move on....

Here in America we really have very little to complain about.

I knew a Korean Vet, said it was like no body cared that he'd just survived a tour of duty in Korea. Maybe because it came so close to WWII and all it's desparate moments, that maybe the ordinary citizen thought Korea was just a little skirmish?
I know the folks at Chosin Resevoir didn't think it was.
Another totally forgotton war, Grenada, we went in whupped some arse, before some people even knew we were fighting. We still lost soldiers, but I've never heard anyone talk about it.
Viet Nam vets did get a nasty welcome home. They should have brought them into the Midwest where they'd have got a warm welcome, instead of hippie happy Kalifornia. I bet Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein, were probably in the top hippy ranks and helped organize the crap the Nam Vets got. I think Nancy and Dianne, drank the kool-aid way tooo many times. back when they spiked it with LSD. Might explain some things.

Don't remind me. Feinstein (career politician) just won again (at age 79). She should have retired a decade ago. My Pastor at our church calls us (California) "the land of fruits and nuts". LOL!

Excellent post, Tinman, and I totally agree with Bill K, I was in during VietNam, and actually experienced some of the disrespect occurring at that time. Thank goodness it's totally different today.

seen any animosity towards viet nam vets in my home state of Indiana--ever. now I don';t recall any homecoming parades either but it seems to gain its steam more out west in those liberal ass hippy towns of california:banplease:
