I just called to verify that price. It is good. The salesman said he suspects someone typed it in wrong but theat they will honor it. Said the price will go up on Tuesday!

They also have the same gun with factory night sights for $320.00. I just ordered one and should have it at my FFL by Monday.

to make u feel better, I bought my used K9 NYPD WQAY BEFORE THE STATE OF ny DROPPED THEM OUT OF their authorzed carry program and I think backt hen I paid $600 for it. At the time I thought I got a great deal and back then u didn't see alof of K9's for sale used either, so I can't cry over spilt milk. So todays prices are so so much better tHan 4 years ago, but again I have had mine for 4 years to, so I am comfortable with that higher price compared to todays "steal" prices. AND ALSO WHAT FOKKING CHOICE DO i HAVE NOW TO. Just sayin.

Just out of curiosity how many rounds would you guys guess have been shot out of a police trade in? I know they would have to qualify with the gun in order to care it off duty, and I think they would have to qualify yearly. A second question that makes me curious is how many rounds are the barrels good for. 10 to 20 thousand? I also can not wait til Monday for my gun to show up so I can try it out. I have never shot a k9 but like previously mentioned you guys make them sound pretty good.

Please make sure you take the time to fully strip it down and clean it. Nearly all the used NYPD guns we've seen are totally crudded up inside. This included the striker channel. Mine looked as if it had never been cleaned.

It doesn't take a long time and is easy to do. It will help to make your first range trip more pleasurable.

Wisewolf,

I can't speak to the durability of the kahr barrels but I've had my other two K9's for six years and they're still running strong. I put a lot of rounds through mine, maybe 15k a year.

As for LEO guns, I'm a firearms instructor for my department so i see how many rounds are fired through our issued guns. MOST of the officers are not gun people and several woudnt carry a gun to work if we didn't make them!

That said, NC requires that an officer fire a day course of fire and a night course of fire. Each course consists of fifty rounds. So, the average officer fires 100 rounds per year! A good guess would be to determine the age of the pistol, and multiply the number of years by 100. That ought to get you in the ballpark as to how many rounds were fired! Sad, but true.

My department offers free range time on our 300 yd outdoor kd range. We provide free ammo too. Its amazing to me how few people take advantage of it. i understand that most have to use their time off to take advantage of the range time and that may play a significant role. The ones that always show up are the officers who could shoot the x ring out of a target at fifty yards with a Ruger LCP while blindfolded. Go figure.

As for me, I'm happy to shoot someone else's bullets on their range!

u have in the K9 the finest german made barrels money can buy. The lothar barrels are just that premium of a barrel. I have 32K + rounds out of my PM9 and my barrel looks the day I bought it. Trust me,u won't live long enough to shoot out a kahr barrel or for that matter any other brand barrel. I can also assure u that most NYPD K9's have very few rounds through them. U must also realize that while NYPD authoriazed the K9, , that kahr also provided tothe NYPD full armoroers service to, so that if by chance a barrel was bad or somethng in that order, it was replaced by kahr no questions ask.

U worry way way to much about barrel life on a kahr. Shoot the fokker like u stole it and enjoy it for the great price u can now buy one at. I would not hesiste in a second to buy another NYPD K9 at the ridiculous prices we are sweeing out there today. More than likely the only abuse u will see on a K9 nypd is the lack of keeping it maintined as to cops it was a tool and nothing more. I doubt if they trade in a K9 and right before that throughly cleaned the gun either.. Just sayin

I can attest to this word for word. Some literally have to be drug to the range. Our off duty qual is only like 12 rounds and only day time, so the 100 a year including personal unaccounted for rounds would be generous.
I too find it amazing that anyone wouldn't want to shoot for free.

I suspect there will be a lot more in once the correct price is added to the ad. See this way to often, incredible unbelievable prices on stuff they don't have and much higher when they actually do have.

I scored mine from S.A.W. at the Tyler show last week. Like the man said B grade (black stainless without night sights) was $299 ($324 OTD). Mine came in a nice plastic KAHR case with manual and all the trimings. This is before cleaning it. The grips are worn but the internals are perfect. The black finish is not even worn through on the slide and frame rails and there is just a bit of polish on the barrel hood. These have been carried but not shot very much.
http://i769.photobucket.com/albums/xx338/Tslepebull/003-4.jpg

They also had C grade (blue carbon slide and frame) with a bit of holster wear for $249 + tax and Black Stainless with night sights for $349 + tax. My buddy bought one of the C grade and was out the door for $271.

that is one very nice K9, I would assume those grips are the rubber grips to. Hold on to them, they are the best of the best IMO. I wold also venture to say this kahr has the elite trigger in it to and not the NYPD trigger. U got a one dandy gun there y friend. U can't wear out a K9, just not gonna happen . The grips IMO certainly don't look worn either. I would suggest u go to the wollfs gunsprings site and order a new set of recoil springs and start this gun out right, everything else shold be perfect. I love the dlc finsih on the kahrs.. very durable as u can see.

I'm jealous!!:(

They are the Hogue rubber grips and yes, I am keeping them. I'm not sure about the NY trigger. It is very light and smooth but feels a bit longer than my CW9; not a problem but different. After I took the photo I cleaned it up and lubed it. The little bit of rust on the grip screws is gone and the whole thing looks much better. I will put a few rounds through it and decide about the springs. It has the round springs not the flat springs like in my CW9 and I like the round ones better. My question is if there were a bunch of these turned in by NYPD what did they do with all the concealment holsters?

I handled some K9s at the Pasadena TX Gun show today. One dealer had at least 12 K9s lined up on the table you take your pick for $329. Another dealer had the same amount of K9 Blacks. But they were in A, B and C grade groups. With the A grouping looking a little nicer and sporting nite sights for $349 and I think Bs were $329 and Cs $299. I was not allowed to rack the slide so I passed for today. But I could go back tomorrow.

Called CDNN today 7/3/12 @ 11am to get a tracking number for my k9. The girl told me the gun was to be delivered this afternoon, I told her that FedEx had already run here and I still needed a tracking number and she says NO NO this is sent by FedEx express and will be delivered this afternoon. Still got no gun and no tracking number. Got to love them.It is being sent to your FFL not you, no?

ur K9 springs from wolffs gunsprings. they are lower in price and they also offer a heavier poundage version if u so desire. while ur ordering from wolffs consider trhe 5# striker spring. It is very nice and drops right in.

Not sure I would spend the extra money to gain a 1/8": less trigger travel either, but that will be ur decision.

I should have got my k9 by now from CDNN but it never showed at my local ffl so I called them to check on my order. Apparently there was a mix up on my order but the guy on the other end of the phone "Chuck" was very helpful and got things squared away. Unfortunately gun won't be in until Monday now:-( O well if nothing else I have to say CDNN has good customer service. Thanks Chuck!

LorenzoB the Hogue grips on your trade-in K9's show more wear than the rest of the gun as do mine. I'm not prone to change the ones on my black stainless model because I like the "street cred" look they give it. I am wondering what the connection is on the distributers who are carrying the trade-ins. CDNN and S.A.W. are both in Texas (Abilene and Mesquite).

my CDNN K9 showed up on Monday. Fairly clean though the right grip showed just a little wear near the trigger. $320.00 with night sights was not bac at all. The NS still glow brightly.

The barrel is quite clean and free of defects. Only two very small imperfections on the dust cover which appear more like rubs than dings. I carried one of my K9's in an ankle holster while in Patrol Division and it developed the same little marks.

Pistol cleaned up very nicely. I wish I had bought two of them! I'll try to get some photos up ASAP

My K9 showed up today. Looks pretty clean other then some pitting on end of the left side of the nose of the gun. I am figuring that the previous owner was right handed and the left side of the gun would have been in contact with the sweat. Should I worry about doing anything with these pits or just normal cleaning and lubrication should be sufficient? Can something be done with the pitting? I think I will just shoot the gun and not worry about it. Sorry no pictures right now still at work. "left work to pick up gun when shop called. LOL" Will post pictures when I get home.

Well said I would post pictures after work but I guess it will have to be tomorrow. Been working on remodeling our house all night and have not even took the time to take the gun out of the grease package it is in and clean it. SHAME ON ME! Think I need to work on getting my priorities straight LOL. But the boss "aka wife" keeps me in check and assures me the house comes before the guns.

6099 Here is a picture of the new gun. 6100 Here are the pits I was talking about. Had my wife help me get the picture. How about the back ground "flowers" LOL. I did take the gun completely apart slide and all. Get the back of the slide off and then back on is more difficult then I thought it would be. The little gun is now ready for the range. Will post results tomorrow after I shoot it.

Character marks. This was a workin gun. Hand polish with some Flitz and shoot the hell out of it. Pull the grips and check for a little bit of rust under them, especially on the body side. Mine had some issues there but cleaned up nicely with some TLC and Flitz. I've been using EezOx to keep it from returning.

seeing the gn, I would think just normal good cleaning on your gun and those pits will probably dissappear, or for sure u will certainly adjust to them there and just ignore them. They won't get worse now tha tu own it and more than likely cleanings and wiping etc might just remove those spots over time.It is a used gun, it was a tool for cops, some take pride in their guns some just "wel;l" u know. bottom line is reliability which the K9 is certainly knwon for ./

U can get new recoil springs and magazine springs and even a 5# striker spring direct from wolffs gunsiprings alot cheaper in pirce than kahr can do. U also with wolffs have a choice of a heavier recoil spring if u so desire. Good company to do business with. I like their 5% more strength magazine springs. Ihave had their 5#strikerspring in my used K9 NYD since I got it kand that has to be over 3 years ago. The rubber grips on ur K9 IMO are awesome to, u won't find a better feeling grip..
